Up for bids is my Wife's 2008 Pontiac Solstice. She has owned it since new and has taken great care of it. It has been garage kept and under blankets its entire life. No one has put their feet on the original carpet. She has floor mats for the floor mats. She used it to shuttle our Daughter back and forth to Gymnastics 6 days a week so that is why the miles are higher than most Solstices. I put brand new OEM Goodyear tires on it about 5000 miles ago. I had the passenger seat airbag sensor replaced recently. This is a $400 part and it is a common fail item on older Solstices. That is the only time its ever been to the dealer. The radio display still has its protective plastic tape on it from the factory. She refuses to remove it. There is a scratch by the left rear light where my dog bit it going up the driveway. There is a tiny little ding on the right rear fender caused by me. ( both me and the dog are still in the dog house because of these two small items). Otherwise the car is very clean. The coolest thing about this car is the roll bar. It really makes it unique from other Solstices. Its an RMR style bar. It looks great and the roof still opens and closes normally. My wife wanted to do a Ladies day event at the Pocono Raceway but convertibles need a roll bar so I installed this and it passed inspection and she had a great time doing a few track events. You can do the same if interested. It averages 23.5 MPG. It has been a great car.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
