1973 Pontiac Lemans on 2040-cars
Front Royal, Virginia, United States
Relisted because of Wasting Time Non Paying Bidder. This 1973 Pontiac was last on the road in 2000. It has a 350 engine and automatic transmission but not sure if they are original. But most likely they are.The car starts and runs but will not idle well. It looks as if it has a rebuilt hot rod engine in it and has a lot of power. The engine is not to overly built and has a new eldebrock intake manifold and carburetor on it that cost more than the opening bid on the car.It does not have the gas tank line hooked up to the engine because I was told the gas tank has bad fuel in it and will need to be removed and cleaned out. There is a portable gas tank hooked straight to the fuel pump that is being used to run the car.The car shifts into gear good forward and reverse and the body is straight with a couple of small rust areas on the right bottom fender and around the trunk lid area and a little bit of small bubbling under the vinyl top. It will need a new battery the one in it has to be jumped to start. The floors and trunk are solid and I feel in great shape. I am selling this car as a project car and it can easly be a running operational car in no time at all. The interior dash is very nice and the seats are in good solid condition. The paint is very nice for the year. No carpet is in the car and missing some trim in the back seat area. The underneath the car is solid and clean with new exhaust from the headers back, and rear shocks. As said the floor pans and trunk are solid with only surface rust. There is a AC compressor and other parts that are in the trunk that comes with the car. I did not want to send this car to the scrap yard. It only has 49507 actual miles showing on a signed Virginia title ready to go. As I said it is a project car and being sold as is but it has a lot of life left in this car. Ask me questions and I will answer as soon as i can. You can pick up the car or have a shipper pick it up. I will work with you on this. Please do not bid if you can not keep your word or need permission from your wife or girlfriend to buy it. Please ask questions if you want to and I will get back to you. |

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
