I pick this up in GA. this past March. I'm the second owner. I have a clear FL in hand. The story goes there dad was a military  man and mom was not the best driver. Car was used very little. No rot or rust that I can see! Floor, trunk pans and chassis good! I'm told the mileage and car is mostly original. Even the exhaust is original.I drove it up from FL after checking things out on the car. The list is - Oil lube and filter. Rear end oil changed. Transmission fluid and filter. Brake fluid changed. Front wheel bearing greased. Front end checked out. ( tight) New 14" tires, brakes ( front disc - rear drum), water pump, radiator 4 core ( still have old one) and rebuilt calipers, brake booster, master and new front hoses. All seats were redone and the door panels fixed. ( but in buckskin color) The dash and steering wheel are in good shape - No cracks.Glass appears original. No cracks or fogging in glass. The AC was changed over to 134A and yes is cold. The speedometer, cruise control and all lights works. Speedometer goes to 140 Mph. Hand crank windows. Mag wheels are nice with the 4 beauty rings center caps. I bought this to make a few dollars on,  not to keep. It runs and shifts great. I was driving it to work everyday until I got a new car.  Time to go.***  I will not deliver! I do not Ship anywhere! I want a $ 500.00 Non Refundable Deposit!  Paid in full though PayPal -  CASH - when you pick it up! Only! ** Thank you

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
