THIS CAR IS SUPER SOLID.  SOLD IN CALIFORNIA AND WAS LIKLEY THERE UNTIL 2012 WHEN I BOUGHT IT.  BODY IS SOLID. FRAME IS SOLID. RUNS STRONG, NO SMOKE NO KNOCKS. BUMPERS ARE REALLY NICE. THE CAR DOES NOT APPEAR TO EVER HAVE BEEN WRECKED. ALL BODY PANELS LINE UP NICE.  UNDER THE HOOD ITS DRY AND CLEAN. NO ZBART OR ? RUST PROOF TAR TO DEAL WITH. NO RUST TO DEAL WITH. THE CAR IS AS ORIGINAL AND UNTOUCHED AS YOU WILL FIND.. WHICH REALLY MATTERS.

SPEED ALERT, LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT, FLASHERS, PWR STEERING, PWR BRAKES, MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND AIRCONDTIONING.. WITH A FACTORY 421....NICE COMBINATION AND LIKELY AS RARE OF A 66 AS YOU CAN BUY...OR FIND.  BUCKET SEATS WITH HEADRESTS...FIRST YEAR THEY WERE OFFERED.  THE SEATS ARE WORTH A DECENT AMOUNT ALONE...EVEN AS CORES.  TACHOMETER IS IN TACT AND STOCK.  I THINK I HAVE A PHS ON THE CAR...

NOT THRILLED ABOUT SELLING.. I LOOKED AND WAITED FOR THE RIGHT 66 TO COME ALONG. ..THIS WAS IT.  BRAKES DO NOT WORK, I THINK ITS JUST THE MASTER CYL.  I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR UP AND DOWN MY STREET MANY TIMES... RURAL STREET ...DEAD END...

RECLINING PASSENGER SEAT.... THE ONLY RUST ON THE BODY OF THE CAR IS BEHIND BACK WINDOW, BUT INCLUDED WITH THE CAR IS A REALLY NICE, SOLID ENTIRE REAR CUT OUT SECTION FROM A 66 GRAND PRIX... CAME WITH THE CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT.

THIS IS AS RARE OF A PONTIAC AS I HAVE OWNED OR EVER WILL.....

MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE VANITY OF OWNING A RARE CAR AT THIS TIME.  I WILL REGRET SELLING IT...

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
