2006 Pontiac Gto Base Coupe 2-door 6.0l on 2040-cars
Effingham, Illinois, United States
I am selling my 2006 Pontiac GTO. Not only does this thing have the looks, but it has the power to go with it. It has the 400hp LS2 motor, backed by a four speed automatic transmission, which shifts perfect, with no slipping, or any issues. 2006 was the last year that the GTO was produced by Pontiac, so the GTO name will only go up in value. Unfortunately for me, my loss is your gain on this one. It comes with a set of aftermarket 2Crave 18" wheels, along with the original wheels which are already equipped with snow tires. Yes, the vehicle does come with 8 wheels and tires for you. I have also installed a Corsa Sport Cat-back exhaust (makes the hearing part worth your time). The interior of the car has been equipped with a premium Memphis sound system, a Clarion touch screen with navigation, and a SiriusXM unit that is ready for activation. Oil changes with Mobil 1 and regular inspections have routinely been done since I have owned the vehicle. There are a few minor scratches and dings, but nothing regular wear and tear didn't cause. The vehicle currently has 69,722 miles on it, but that will go up due to the fact it is my daily driver. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me any time. Car is listed on other sites, so I do reserve the right to remove listing if the car is sold elsewhere.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later
Fri, 12 Sep 2014
Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
