2006 Brazen Orange Gto Automatic (still Smells New!) on 2040-cars
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States
This is an extremely
well cared-for GTO in perfect mechanical condition! It is probably one of the finest examples of
any late-model, Australian-built GTO. Its condition
will undoubtedly rival one with a fraction of its mileage.
Zero-wear interior that still smells new. Even the floor mats appear wear-free (I actually covered them with another set of floor mats to keep them that way).
The dealer installed a new
fuel pump in February of 2012 @ approx. 29,4xx miles. The Goodyear F1 tires are mounted on chromed,
OEM 18” wheels. However, the car was
born with the 18”, silver version of the same wheels (not included). The chrome wheels were a dealer-installed
option.
There are no door dings
– this is an all original paint car! The undercarriage is very clean and has no
evidence of abuse. I’ve kept
the Optima battery (included) on a Battery Tender (battery not included) since my purchase. I’ve only used non-gloss Armor All on the
interior surfaces.
2006 was the only year for
this Brazen Orange exterior color. If you've never seen this paint in direct sunlight, you will be shocked at how
amazing it is! It accents each line and crease in the
bodywork; my photos do it no justice. I've heard it described as “show car” paint. All other color variants seem plain
by comparison.
The photo of the engine
bay shows over-spray of Armor All, not a leak. I sprayed it over the front fascia to prevent
insects from sticking – it actually works quite well.
My modifications were
limited to a set of "ballistic" nylon front seat covers installed the
day I received her, nothing else.
However, a very high quality, orange-anodized PCV oil vapor kit and a
lower temperature thermostat are included, but were never installed.
It appears the previous
owner installed slightly lower springs, but I haven’t yet identified them. The ride is not harsh and the stance is
perfect! In my opinion, these springs are what
the car should have come with. There are
also Hotchkis front & rear adjustable anti-sway bars, T-slotted front
rotors (I have no idea what brake pads are currently installed), HID headlights and a few LED bulb replacements.
This car was obviously owed by an OCD-plagued owner before (and like) me as this car is absolutely un-abused and in incredible condition. I took delivery on 2/12/12 at about 9:30pm and drove it less than 2100 miles since. It’s killing me to sell it, but it bothers me even more to own a car I never use. I’ve included no exaggerations in this description. Simply put, you just won’t believe how nice this car is in person. Please send me any questions you have, but realize I work midnight shift and varied days off. I will, however, answer all questions completely, honestly and without unnecessary delays. Also realize the reason for its sale is practicality, not desperation. So please, only inquires by serious buyers who are actually ready to purchase. Thank you for your interest!

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
