1970 Pontiac GTO that has been stripped for rebuild. Frame is in excellent condition, Body and Enduro Bumper requires minor work for preparation to apply paint. Some rust in floor and trunk pans but nothing major (small penetrations that have been treat and sealed). Have found some spots on car that have been repaired with fiber glass but not major in size or location. A lot of work was done on the vehicle before I purchased it, but a few spots remain that need some attention. Interior has been removed and requires full replacement. When the vehicle was purchased I was told that the engine and tranny have been rebuilt. The 400 has a Edelbrock 750CFM Carb w/ electric choke and runs strong and tranny shifts smooth (I do not know how many miles on the engine). Has been started weekly but has not been on the street in 6 months. Pics show parts painted, but needs to be redone. Pics show Two (2) sets of doors (painted set has some dents), Rear Valance (New), Front Valance (New), Rear Spoiler, and Enduro Bumper, and Original Dash ( Not Shown but Needs Replacement). Complete inspection should be performed by a certified mechanic and replacement of tires, shocks recommended. I have all new exterior trim - Wheel Well Molding, Drip Molding, Hood Molding, Weather Stripping, Headlight Bezels, Headlights, Rocker Panels, Door Handles, Locks, Parking Light Assembly, Rear Shocks, Coil Springs, Headlamp Bezels, Rear Tail Lights, etc... over 3K in parts. Described the vehicle the best I can for what I can see, but send any questions. Very good candidate for restoration

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
