Selling a 67 GTO . This car appears to have all it's original sheet metal it has the numbers matching 400 engine. Automatic on the column with rare bench seat. Best of all this car has virtually no rust. I have had several of these gto cars and by far this car is the most rust free car I have had. If you are one of those guys that restore cars to original specs. This is your blank canvas. Car has original headlight bulbs. Original floor pans that are solid solid solid. Original trunk pan that looks like it just came out of a parts catalog. I bought this car it had been in storage. The seller got it to a running and driving condition. Tires appear to have been replaced so they are in good shape. I also have the phs documentation on the car . This is a true GTO that is as straight and rust free as they come. Vinyl top is in great shape. Paint is in good shape with normal wear and tear. There are no obvious blemishes on the exterior of car. It is missing the radio antenna. The interior is in decent shape. Fan blower does not work. No rips or tears in the upholstery Dash pad has a hairline crack. All glass in the car is good. Car has power steering and power brakes. Front brakes are disc. Take a look at the pics. Price is fair but firm. You can't buy a no rust 67 GTO for less than this. You may find a cheaper car but you will pay the difference in body repair. It appears to have one repaint more than 20 years ago this car is a true survivor. Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
