1995 Pontiac Firebird. V8 Lt1 Engine. Excellent Condition. 52k Original Miles on 2040-cars
White Lake, Michigan, United States
It drives and sounds suburb and very fast. No hesitation on throttle or steering or handling. Loaded with fire power of this LT1 350 Engine. Super clean. 9.5 out of 10 in for overall condition and its performance. Inspections are welcome. Drive test for series buyers only. I am the 2nd owner, Purchase in June of 2011 with 41K miles, currently is has 52K miles on it. I have spend around $7.5k in overall cost for re-conditioning and maintaining all repairs required since 2011. This is a weekend drive car only. It does not see Dust, Rain or Thunder nor Winter. Garage kept with custom fitted cover that comes with it when you BUY the car. All of floor Matt s and T-Top covers comes with it too. No accident, No dents, No tares, No rust. No window cracks or scratches. This car is 100% all original except the air hose for the check valve is in blue color and the tail pipes where replaced. Vehicle repairs history since June of 2011:
Tires have been rotated and they Gage at 60% life on them. The Break light is ON always, due to ABS BREAK SENSOR as you can see in the photos. There is only 1 think with this vehicle, it needs ABS BREAK SENSOR Module, value repair is parts and labor is $350.00 and its not needed for weekend drive. The Break system works fine because the car is not driven in winter nor slippery condition. |

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?
Wed, 07 Oct 2009 DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
