Very good original condition 1988 Pontiac Firebird with rare Z20 special appearance package. 89,860 original miles. The Z20 option was available on base model firebirds in 1988 only. Believe that possibly less than 800 were made. The car runs and drives well, nice highway cruiser. It is originally from the Seattle WA area and was brought to Montana about 10 years ago and has been mostly in storage since. The paint on the car and the wheel "spats" appears to be original and is in very good condition, but has some average, but minor chips and dings. The front and rear bumpers appear to have been repainted and show some very minor wear. The paint on the duck tail spoiler was largely missing/weathered when I got the car so I had it repainted. Car has very little to no rust. AC works but has intermittent operation, may need charge. Car has original R-12 AC system. Windshield washer bottle is cracked, holds only a small amount of fluid. Power door lock on passenger door sticks, works ok manually. Small crack in windshield on bottom right corner. The logo on the windshield matches the logo on the rear hatch so it may have come with the car. Dash is good, interior is good with exception of drivers seat which has some some small tears from seatbelt rubbing on seat. Headliner started to fall down and was repaired with needle and thread. Does not have original floor mats. All the options are working except for those noted. Car has new brakes, new tires, new hood and trunk lift shocks. To many cars must sell. Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
