1981 Pontiac Firebird Esprit. Well kept car, recently restored to its former glory.

Virtually rust free, some surface rust on the original parts which weren't restored and were left as is.

Interior is in excellent condition.

Engine bay is near perfection for originality and seems to have everything in it that would have been original to the car the day it was built.

Wheels are in great condition, tires are in great condition.

Runs and drives well, albeit slow thanks to the tiny v8 Pontiac had to put in to pass environmental regulations, not that the 4.3 was much of a disadvantage compared to other cars of this time. needs to have the water pump replaced, I have the pump, I just haven't installed it. Also could use an air filter, the air filter it uses now is a bit dirty.

For those interested in improving performance I have a 455 and a 4 speed which will also be for sale but NOT INCLUDED in this listing. We can work out a nice deal if you buy the car, engine, and the transmission if you are interested.

General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
