For Sale, Beautiful 1976 Trans-Am, all restoration done about one year ago. The car drives super tight and straight, it has power steering and power disc brakes. This car can be driven anywhere with confidence. The engine is the origional 400 cu.in. and rebuilt with less than 1000 miles on it. It has a mild cam with roller rockers, an Edelbrock intake and headers. The engine compartment is very clean and detailed. The estimated horsepower is about 350.The turbo trans was replaced with a 700R with overdrive so cruising on the highway at 65 the rpm's are at 2200. The rearend is a 3:73 posi unit and rebuilt. The car has beautiful black paint with a red interior that just sets off the black paint. The interior has no rips or busted seams. It has power windows and power door locks. It also retains the orig. am/fm radio with an 8 track player. The orig radio has been disconnected and a new after marker radio an c/d player installed in the glove box. This car needs nothing except maybe the Firebird chicken on the hood. When the car was repainted I choose not to put it on, just personal choice. All other Trans-Am badging is there. The decal can be bought at many of the after market places. The rims are factory, and in excellent condition with no curb rash or marks. The tires have about 1000 miles on them. I'm selling the car to make room for my next project I have set the reserve low on this car, you couldn't rebuild this car for what the reserve is. The car is sold with no warranty and the buyer is responsable for the shipping, but I will assist in anyway I can. 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
