1969 Firebird With A 400 Engine And 6x Heads!! on 2040-cars
Ashland City, Tennessee, United States
I have a 1969 Firebird with a 400 engine and 6X heads!! The perfect
cruiser or daily driver. I bought the Bird to fix up into a daily
driver, it doesn't need much to be turned into a show car either. I
have been driving it for several months now. I enjoy working on cars and
have completed this car to where it needs it to be to be a dependable
daily driver. I drive it to and from work regularly. I have everything
done but the body work for painting. I currently have had the front left
fender replaced, that's why its still black in the picture. The engine
is from a 1970 Firebird 400 and is not numbers matching. It still has
the stock cam in it which makes it great for highway driving. It has a
Carter AFB competition series carb with a high ignition distributor
which really makes it come to life when you need it.
The things I have replaced on it. -New seats -New carpet -New floor pan, (front and back) and covered in Dyno Mat. -New headliner -New emblems -Front and rear shocks -Sway bar and end links -Top and bottom control arm ball joints -Tie Rod rebuilt -New battery -New Gas tank -New Fuel lines -New Fuel pump -New Distributor -Edelbrock Air cleaner - Edelbrock Valve covers -New Tires -New Magnaflow dual exhaust - Rear Air shocks - New brake lines, Brake booster and Master cylinder. Things it needs. -Front right fender patch. I took a close up of it for you to see the cancer spots. - Trunk pan (its not too bad but it will need replaced sometime) - Radio - Rear Quarter patches - Paint Job This Pontiac Firebird is a great runner!!! You will not be disappointed if you are looking for an AWESOME daily driver. Only thing you'll need to do is get a paint job and you'll have a $25,000 car! Summers here and you deserve to have a nice classic car to enjoy it in! This car gets thumbs up and looks where ever it goes due to its classic hot rod looks. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have and I will do my best to accommodate your requests. Thank you for looking. On Jul-03-14 at 07:21:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I just lowered the reserve! Someone is going to get a great car for a STEAL! |

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
