Here is a 1967 Pontiac Firebird for sale.  Ive had this car since 06 and every year always did some type of upgrade to it.  A car from the southwest region of the U.S. it had no heater core, so basically I only drive this car from May to Sept, starts to get cold up here in Mn and the windows fog up, its time to park her for the season.  I think it woiuld be easy to put heat in the car, I just never got around to it.  Rebuilt 350 turbo trans in 06 or 07 with B&M shifter, someone pulled out the 326 engine at one time and dropped in a 350 Chevy engine with HEI distributor, new radiator in 07 along with new hood, windows are clear with no chips and appear to be original, had drum brakes all around, but last year added a front disc brake conversion kit alond with new tubular a-arms and rear drums were completely rebuilt so it stops on a dime.  I drive this car daily, its my daily driver in the summer and hasn't let me down.  10 bolt rear end not posi, this car looks clean with not much rust from what I can see.  Now the body is rough, looks like a mid 80's restoration that added fender flares in the rear, but whoever did it, was probably in their garage and has not held up over the years.  Im sure there are some things I forgot.  Please feel free to call me with any questions and this car is for sale locally so I have the right to end this auction at any time.  (952) 367-6936 ask for John and thanks for lookin

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
