1988 Pontiac Fiero Gt Coupe 2-door 2.8l on 2040-cars

Year:1988 Mileage:55013
Location:

Bloomingdale, Ohio, United States

Bloomingdale, Ohio, United States

For sale: A 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT 2.8 liter V6 rear wheel drive with T-TOPS. Out of the 6,848 Fieros ever produced this model year, only 614 were ever produced with factory T-tops. This is a very rare car. The production sticker has the CJ8 code on it showing that the T-tops are factory. This Fiero does need a minor restoration even with the low mileage. It starts and runs great, and shifts great. Before I write all of the little issues down, I want everyone to understand that I am trying to inform you of anything that this car could need, I would not want to be misinformed myself so I am trying to give you the best description that I can, but this is still a great car and a rare and good collectors item. It does need a paint job, the clear coat has bubbled off of the front end and the two side doors, and the weather stipping on the T-tops and side windows needs replaced, but it is not leaking at this time. Interior wise, the driver side seat has a small tear in it which is typical with all fiero's. Some of the interior vinyl needs new adhesive applied to fit correctly, and new sunvisors. Engine wise it needs an EGR valve, and an exhaust repair on the down pipe going to the exhaust. I am trying to be as honest as I can about things that I know it needs to be in mint condition again. I love this car and wish I didn't have to sell it, but I have a family now and to many other things going on so I would rather it end up with some one who enjoys it and will restore it to its original state.

Serious buyers only can call after 5pm Mon-Sun with any questions and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. (740)-381-9759

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
