 GOING TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER IS MY FERRARI 308 GTB REPLICA KIT CAR. BUILT ON A MODIFIED 1986 FIERO CHASSIE. THE CHASSIE WAS LENGTHENED TO REPLICATE THE EXACT WHEEL BASE AS THE ORIGINAL FERRARI 308. IT IS POWERED BY A GM 2.8 FUEL INJECTED V-6, WITH 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. ENGINE WAS REPLACED BY THE PERVIOUS OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WHICH STATED AND SUPPLIED ME WITH A INVOICE FROM THE SALVAGE YARD THAT THE MOTOR HAD 63XXX MILES ON IT. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THE LAST OWNER THE CAR WOULD NOT RUN CORRECTLY AS SOME MECHANIC OR AT LEAST HE CLAIMED TO BE A MECHANIC COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE VACCUME LINES, THE INTAKE GASKET LEAKING, AND THE BROKEN EGR PIPE . I BOUGHT IT WITH INTENTION OF RESTOREING IT COMPLETLY AND DRIVING IT. INSTEAD I GOT IT RUNNING AND DRIVING AND FIGURED OUT I CANT FIT IN THE CAR THAT WELL. AS FOR THE REST OF THE CAR THE INTERIOR IS IN DECENT SHAPE BESIDES THE HEADLINER. IT DOES HAVE AFTERMARKET RACING BUCKET SEATS. ALL INTERIOR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WORK AS THEY SHOULD. PRESSENTLY THE A/C IS NOT WORKING. THE BELT WAS MISSING OFF THE COMPRESSOR WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND I JUST NEVER GOT AROUND TO PUCHASING THE BELT AND INSTALLING IT. THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR IS ALL THERE, AND THERE IS NO CRACKS IN THE FIBERGLASS BODY. IT APPEARS IT WAS PAINTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO BY THE PERVIOUS OWNER WHO LEFT IT OUT SIDE UNCOVERED SO IT IS KIND OF SUN FADED AND PEELING HAS BEGAN TO START ON THE ROOF BEHIND THE SUN ROOF. THERE IS ALSO SOME PEELING OF PAINT ON THE LOWER ROCKER PANEL CLOSE TO THE FRONT DRIVERS FENDER, BUT NO ROT ( THE BEAUTY OF FIBERGLASS). ALSO THERE IS SOME PEELING PAINT ON THE FUEL DOOR. THERE ARE (4) 1/4 INCH HOLES IN THE DECK LID FROM A WING I'D ASSUME THAT ONCE WAS INSTALLED.  IF I COULD HAVE FIT IN THE VEHICLE I PERSONALY WOULD HAVE BLOCK SANDED THE CAR, RE PRIMED IT, AND THE GAVE IT THE ARREST ME RED PAINT JOB IT DESERVES. TIRES ON THE REAR OF THE CAR ARE LIKE NEW CONDITION; THE FRONTS HAVE PLENTY OF TREAD BUT ARE DRY CRAKING ON THE SIDEWALLS.  

 

SO HERES WHAT IT NEEDS: HEAD LIGHT MOTOR NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE (2) GOOD USED ONES THAT GO WITH THE CAR. INTAKE TUBE FROM THE THROTTLE BODY IS SOME HOME MADE CRAP FROM THE OLD OWNER ID REPLACE IT. A (AFTER MARKET INTAKE TUBE AND FILTER WOULD DO JUST FINE AND ARE CHEAP $30 DOLLARS OR SO). THE IAT CONTROL SHOULD BE REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE INTAKE. A SET OF VITALONI BABY TURBO SIDE MIRROR. THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR ON CAR WAS MISSING WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND VITALONI HAS SINCE DISCONTINUED THE MODEL MIRROR THAT STILL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF CAR. SET OF FRONT TIRES. SOME NEETING UP IN THE ENGINE BAY . AND PAINT. I HAVENT DRIVIN THE CAR THAT FAR FOR THAT LONG AS IT IS JUST TO SMALL FOR ME. I CAN SAY I HAVE PUT ABOUT 50 MILES ON IT WITH OUT ANY HEADACH. BUT I WOULD RECOMEND TRAILERING IT HOME IF YOUR TRAVELING ANY GREAT DISTANCE TO PICK IT UP.

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys

According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
