Please email if you need more photos or  or have questions.  I will be posting a number of cars for sale over the next two weeks that I am pulling out of storage.   We are selling our " get around to them " cars and will focus on only  the  restoration of our 1956 Dodge La Femme, so this car is on the sale block.6

This is a 1964 Pontiac Catalina convertible for restoration or customization.    It has the original drivetrain,  389 v8,  2 bbl carb, auto transmission, ps, pb, power top, 8 lug wheels. The car runs and since the photo was taken the day it was pulled from storage, it has received 4 new tires, brake bleeding and adjusting, tune up, rad flush, gas tank flush, tune up, new alternator, fuel pump, battery, carb rebuild , electrical work and a host of other things.

If the car does not sell this week, I will keep it and just take it to the upholstery shop for a new black interior and white top ( or black, undecided ) top and use it as a daily driver down here and tinker with it as I drive it.  It is unusual to find one with such solid body , trunk and hood panels that it is worth redoing.

This is really solid rust free  Oklahoma car  Just so you understand, when I say rust free I mean the body panels, trunk, fenders, doors, hood etc are solid and do not have rust holes.  Every 50 year old car ( and even cars much newer) will have surface rust and this car is no exception.  I am sure it has had work done at some point, but that is to be expected for a car of this age.

This is a 50 year old used car that is being sold as is, where is , with no warranties what so ever as per the laws of Florida.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
