78 Pontiac Bonneville 2dr coupe with padded landau roof   It has a fuel injected LT1 350 and transmission from a 96 Chevy caprice. It runs and drives great. This car flies!  Very powerful, very nice cruiser.  Could use a paint job, but is a driver and is very solid for the year.  Body has blemishes, needs a little work.  Used to be a body molding down the side  but it pealed off taking some paint with it an leaving behind some rust, dent on right front fender filled by amateur never primed or painted.  One hub can is missing some fins. Chrome trim around back window has a small dent,  very small  hole in landau roof at trunk.. Interior is in pretty good shape.  Tires are like new, new dual exhaust, very quiet.  Motor runs great, has  96 caprice cats an emission system in tact, wired with diagnostic port in cab, and has working check engine light, VDO speedometer.  Engine has 140k miles on it now, car has 103k on it..

You can drive this car, the way it sits, across country if you wanted, gets great gas mileage for a big car and is very reliable.  I am the third owner, second owner did the engine swap.   I do have the title for the car but its old and in the original owners name..  In NH they don't re-issue titles for vehicle this old so i will sell it with a bill of sale but will include the above mentioned title.    Car is currently registered and inspected and driven daily.  Also have the original  window sticker an some original sales paper work from the original owner.

Please come take a look at it if you can, ask any question before you bid.

Must be paid for in full within 4 days of end of auction.  Car must be picked up i a reasonable amount of time..  2 weeks from auction end unless arraignments are made.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
