Up for bid is a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Sebring plus. This car has been recently restored turnkey vehicle. Everything works like it should, the fast idle kicks in when cold and idles smooth when warm. The suspension is mostly stock with 8 and 1/4 open differential with 271 highway gears, front and rear sway bar and rear air shocks. The A/C heater box was completely restored with new heater core and evaporator core was tested and cleaned.

This vehicle came with the following options from factory360 four barrel engine, air conditioning, power windows, 727 torque flight with slap stick console, bucket seats, rally instrumentation, cruise control, light package, bright trim package, halo vinyl top, and AM/FM stereo.

Extras we added:

  • Under the Hood: A Rebuilt 360 with 10: 1 compression and 340 X heads that have been pocket ported and polished. An Edelbrock intake manifold and a 340 cam, aluminum dual intake with Holley four barrel carburetor and dual exhaust with MagnaFlow stainless steel mufflers with Roadrunner resonators and slotted tips.

  • Interior: We upgraded the interior to all leather interior (dash, seats and headliner) and period correct power seats. A remote trunk release, power locks/ key-less entry system and trick pistol grip shifter.

  • To the body: Custom grill and custom lenses, polished aluminum slotted mag wheels 14 x 10 rear and 14 x 8 front, dual luxo sport remote right and left hand mirrors.

Everything in this car has been completely checked and is fully functional including the analog clock! I built this car with luxury, performance and reliability in mind. The grand touring vehicle Plymouth should have built. Made with the 70’s look in mind a true time piece with a cool hassle free appeal for the person who just wants to get in and drive.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
