Sorry the pictures aren't the best. I pulled the car out of the garage and snapped these with my iPhone. I will post better ones as soon as I can. 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner clone. Started life as a triple white Plymouth Satellite Seebring Plus. Frankly the triple white Satellite is a pretty rare color combo and likely more rare than the Roadrunner. The previous owner did the Roadrunner conversion and did a pretty nice of it.  Body is laser straight, solid and paint looks great. Not a show car but a really nice driver or cruiser. It definitely garners a lot of attention at local cruises.  Interior looks beautiful with new headliner, carpet and dash pad. Couple buttons missing from driver seat from snagging on my pants. Seats are in like new condition otherwise. I have some replacement buttons I will include. Door panels are good to fair. Motor was rebuilt two years ago and has less than 5K miles on it. Transmission was also rebuilt. Car drives great and really turns heads. The bumpers are good but have some slight pitting from age. They still shine up great. The guy who restored the car painted the engine compartment black. I don't like it but will leave that to the next owner to change if they desire. I have all of the AC parts but it needs a new compressor. Wiper assembly is missing one control rod. I have a perfect set of wipers and a new motor and linkage except for the one little bar to hook everything up. I never drive it in the rain so it hasn't been a problem for me. This is a great driver quality cruiser. Runs great, looks great and gets a lot of attention. Trunk pans were replaced when car was painted two years ago. They did a nice job. Floors and frame rails are solid. Tires are like new, brakes and suspension are in great shape. On a scale from 1 to 10 with a 10 being perfect showroom condition I would rate this a solid 7 to 8.  No reserve so high bidder will get it.  I do have it listed locally and reserve the right to end listing early if it sells.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
