This is one of my cars that I said I'd never sell, but we're buying a new house and it's gotta go!

1956 Plymouth Fury.  303 CI dual quad power pack P29 engine.  Fully, professionally rebuilt to stock specs except a slightly hotter ISKY mechanical cam.  The only non-original engine parts are the Edelbrock carbs and air cleaners.

Manual transmission car with overdrive.  YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER!  Possibly the only remaining manual tranny car!

Dealer installed A/C upgraded to R134... works great.

2nd owner restored the body in 1988.  I am the 4th owner.  It presents extremely well but the paint is showing some age in two spots (crazing).  Chrome is perfect.  Glass is perfect.

One small bit of rust in the left rear body mount.  Not an issue to me.  Not worth messing with in my opinion.

Interior should be redone.  Original headliner is presentable, but aged.  Door panels were dyed black at one point.  Back seat is original and just OK, but front needs redone.  All door panels and seat upholstery is available from SMS.

Car runs and drives perfectly with the exception of a warped drum on the left rear. I will have it fixed before you pick it up.  I drive this car regularly and would not hesitate to drive it across the country...  in fact I did once.

Lots of photos here~

Look at the photos closely and then feel free to ask questions.  I will answer all questions as honestly and accurately as possible.

Immediate non-refundable deposit via Paypal (I just got burned on the sale of my D500 wagon and am still pissed about it.).  Full payment within 7 days!

Car can be stored inside for 30 days for free after payment, and then I'll need $75/month to cover storage fees. I can stay in storage until March (possibly longer).

I have 100% eBay feedback as both a buyer and seller since 2004.

Please call with questions BEFORE you bid!

Thanks, Pete

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
