73 Cuda on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:99999
Location:

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

I'm selling my 73 Barracuda that is much more like a 72 Cuda.  The bumpers, front and rear, have been changed to 72 style, along with the brackets.  The car looks a little shorter, meaner, and doesn't have those big rubber blocks bolted to the bumpers or the filler panel between the body and the bumpers.

In place of the stock 318 and the 904 trans I've installed the rebuilt 440. I've added aluminum Edelbrock RPM heads, Edelbrock Pro Flo fuel injection and a Shumacher torque bar  The transmission is a Keisler heavy duty 5 Speed, good for up to 650 HP.   It also has Shumacher Try Y headers that have been ceramic coated.  The rest of the exhaust is TTi 3" with Cuda tips.

The car has an electric cooling fan, electric water pump and stainless steel radiator hoses.  The alternator has been updated to a 140 amp, along with the necessary wiring.

The car has Baer discs all the way around.  The wheels are 18" Billit Specialties, 8.5x18 front, 9x18 rear.  Both have 4.5" back spacing.  The stance is just right!  Shocks are KYB gas charged all the way around.
The interior is vinyl with suede inserts, both front and rear.

It was a automatic, console car.  Now it's a 5 speed, console car.  The stock dash was replaced with a Rally Gauge cluster that was rebuilt prior to installation.  All new (Year One) wiring was installed at the same time from front to rear.

The paint is a beautiful 1997 Viper blue.  It's awesome all of the time, but depending on the light may show a purple tint, just like the Viper.

I've had the car dyne-tuned and it's putting out 383 HP at the rear wheels.  It currenly has NO HEATER OR AC.  It was an AC car, I just didn't want it.  A great setup from Vintage Air would work well in this car.

The stereo has a cassette (that I've never used) and a 6 disc player mounted in the trunk (I've used it a lot)!  It has 6" round three way speakers in the front, and 9x6 three way speakers in the back.  There are two 500 watt amps and a 12" subwoofer mounted in the trunk.  The stereo also performs!  (Now you know why I needed the 140 amp alternator)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  I love talking about this car!

Buyer is responsible for shipping.  A trip to Vegas before would be icing on most cakes!

Special note, a Viper Blue Rally hood and springs are included, along with other parts!!

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
