I started on this project in October 2004, and the vehicle has been in storage since 2006.  I have spent around $ 20,000 so far to do everything right, with a budget of $ 30,000 in mind - but I've run out of resources and time to complete this.  So my loss will be someone's gain.  This is a NO-RESERVE auction, so happy bidding!

Body - Has been acid dipped and primed with grey paint.  There was some rust damage to the floor pans, trunk, tail-light panel, and a few pin holes in the engine wall and other places.  The body is completely rust free now, and with new floor pans and trunk pan, and spot fixes in a few other places - should be really good.  I have the original body tag and the codes.

Engine - Has been completely disassembled and checked.  I had the crankshaft balanced and blueprinted while apart, and had a newer lift and heads put on.  The engine has been sealed in plastic since it was put back together, and should run perfectly.

Transmission - I took it to a shop to be disassembled and rebuilt, but haven't picked it up.  By the time this auction ends, I hope to include it - but at the moment this auction doesn't include the transmission.

All Other Parts - The storage locker has the majority of the parts, plus some extras that I've collected over the years.  I will include all the pictures that I can, and if serious bidders want to view the body and locker, arrangements can be made.  I have extra doors, new quarter panels, fiberglass front fenders, complete wiring harness, many more.

This is a project car, and will take a bit of work - but on completion, you will have a black on black '74 360 'Cuda.  They are becoming rare.  Good luck bidders.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
