CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Up for sale and your consideration is a nice 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible that runs, stops and shifts great and drives very smoothly. It is in turn key drive home and enjoy immediately today condition. The car has a nice curb appeal with it's baby blue paint, white convertible top and white interior. The rare factory accessory wheels add to the appeal. This is not a 100 point show car, nor is it priced as such. It has been repainted some time ago, and since it is a northeast car, some imperfections and evidence of minor rust repair can be found upon close inspection. As seen in underside photos, the right rear and left front floors could use some attention. The car is well optioned with a 350 engine, automatic transmission, power steering and disc brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, AM/FM 8-track stereo & power convertible top. Air conditioning is complete but not working so it probably needs to be recharged. I do not have any access to Freon R12. There is a wiper arm scratch on the drivers side of the windshield. Also the chrome on the front bumper top is a little worn. A new gas tank has been installed. A new alternator was also just installed as well as a fresh oil and oil filter change, and chassis lube. Previous owner installed a new convertible top. The top frame is the scissor design, and due to being a poor design and age, will require some TLC when raising and lowering the top. Previous owner actually kept the top down for 10 years  in the garage to avoid the hassle. The car is priced for what it is, and is being sold reasonably priced so the average person looking for a collectible vehicle can afford it. This is the last year of the full size Oldsmobile convertible so the collector status speaks for itself. Please take the time to check out all the photos.  I have more photos available just call and ask for them.

Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence.  Feel free to ask any and all questions on the car. I am an honest ebayer looking to complete an honest sale here.  The description is based on a complete and thorough physical inspection of the car and servicing it and driving this car as well. I have in hand a clean Pennsylvania title for this car ready for transfer to the new owner.  This title must be legally and properly transferred by a Pennsylvania notary. The mileage is listed as exempt on the title as many older cars are in Pennsylvania. This car is sold in AS-IS condition with no actual or implied warranty or guarantee.  If any prospective buyer has any question as to the integrity or operation of this car I welcome the opportunity to show the car in person by appointment. The most preferred, accepted and encouraged form of payment on the car is funds in hand and a local pickup.  An ebay required non refundable deposit of $300.00 will be paid by the buyer using the buy it now option or the buyer at the end of the auction to commit to the sale. Shipping will be the financial responsibility of the buyer.  I will be happy to recommend previously used shippers.  I will also be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up, pick-up and loading of the car. My contact # is at the top and bottom of this ad so it is there for any prospective buyer to reach me at. Lastly any questions, please don't hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741.  Thanks and good luck !

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
