1968 CUTLASS SUPREME CONVERTIBLE

Being offered is a very nice 1968 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. This classic is a perfect example of a garage kept original car. I have full documentation of the car since day one.  Everything from the original sales invoice, protect o plate, original owners manual, to service records of last 45 years comes with it. Here is your chance to own one of the most sought after body styles GM ever made and they are steadily going up in value each year. This car offers the following:

POWERTRAIN

This Cutlass is powered by its original, rebuilt 350 Rocket Motor. It was recently tuned up with new Ac plugs,  MSD wires, and new cap. The stock carburator was recently rebuilt. All belts and hoses are new along with a new battery, new alternator, and new water pump. The trans is the stock Jet Away. It was special ordered from factory with bucket seats and console shifter. This car has all original, rebuilt drivetrain. The rear is stock with new fluid and new bearings. The car runs strong, drives and rides very nice.

EXTERIOR

This Cutlass has a very slick paint job, on a solid, rust free, and laser straight body. The car was painted years ago, it has been garage kept and still shows mirror like reflections as can be seen in the pictures. All gaps and fitment of panels are nice, doors open and close easily. All door, hood, and trunk jams finished out nice. I would rate the paint, a 9.5 - 10 overall. Its perfect except for one small chip the size of an eraser tip that has been touched up on drivers door. Hardly noticeable. The undercarriage is super solid. The floors, frame, body braces, trunk pan, rockers are very soild. This car is 100% original sheet metal with no rust. All seams are as they were from the factory, no fillers. The car has been garage kept since 1974. It has had one repaint. All glass and trim around glass is perfect. Chrome bumpers and emblems are in great condition. The front bumper has a small dent near middle on passenger side. See pic. All trim down the sides of car is very nice as well. The car also has a perfect set of factory chrome Cutlass Supreme wheels, with newer tires.

INTERIOR

This Cutlass has a very clean interior. The car has original interior except the carpet is new, and drivers seat bottom cover was redone in the 90's.  The original seats are free from any rips and tears and are in great condition. The door panels are in great condition also. The dash, dash pad, and steering wheel is in very nice condition as well. The power convertible top functions as it should.  It has a glass rear window, and the top is free from any rips or tears.  The car has nice factory Gm seat belts. All exterior lights, dash lights, turn signals, interior lights, Heater controls, radio and gauges work properly.

Here is an opportunity to own a turn key classic rare convertible, just in time for late summer, that will turn heads at every corner. You don't get the opportunity to buy them like this one to often. Winning bidder MUST PAY FULL AMOUNT within 7 days of auction end. A $500 deposit is REQUIRED within 24 hours.  If either one of these terms causes a problem, please contact me before bidding, or please don't bid at all. Accepted methods of payment are cash in person, bank transfer, and certified cashiers bank check. Car will not be released until all funds are available. Please feel free to call or Text Don at (513) 884 3156, before 10pm EST, if you have any questions about the car. This car may be advertised locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time upon sale. Please dont place a bid unless you are series about owning the car. All winning non paying bidders will be reported to Ebay. Third party inspections are welcome and recommended. If you are local, feel free to come inspect the car in person. Worldwide buyers welcome. I am willing to help with making sure the car gets to its destination safely with your transporter if needed. I have very positive feedback so bid with lots of confidence! Thanks for your interest. Good Luck!

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
