Listed for sale is my 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. This car is 764/2000. Only 2000 VR-4's were made in 1991. I have owned this vehicle for 16 years and it is like a friend to me. It has never let me down and has taken me all over the U.S. I hate to sell this vehicle but I have too many cars at this time. This vehicle has been meticulously maintained and I have folders of records for maintenance and a complete file for all the upgrades done to this vehicle. The vehicle has 212248 miles at this time. I installed a completely rebuilt longblock in 8/2011 at 208332 miles. The engine came with new Japanese pistons and rings, bearings, new lifters, all Japanese idler bearings and tensioner, balance shafts and reground cam and crank. This engine runs perfectly and is very smooth with the balance shafts installed. Engine also came with new japanese water pump, oil pump and all new engine seals. This engine does not leak a drop of oil. Everything works on this vehicle including the 4WS(4 wheel steering), the ABS, the cruise control, AC, sunroof, rear window defroster, and all the power windows and door locks. This vehicle runs perfectly and I would not hesitate to drive it to Florida from Washington State. The car gets lots of looks and compliments by people wherever it goes. The paint is in excellent shape. Let the pictures speak for themselves. The VR-4 has had many upgrades and I will list them by category as follows.

One thing I forgot to list: The Galant also has a JDM front mount intercooler. Since I have owned this vehicle the oil has ALWAYS been changed at 3,000 miles with and OE Mitsubishi oil filter.

I also appear to be the third owner of the Galant. The vehicle was originally sold here in Washington state.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV faces longer delays, might not arrive until 2016

Thu, 22 May 2014

It seems every time the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV makes the news the information concerns a delay, and the reason always centers on its batteries. Four months ago the culprit was restricted battery supply from Lithium Energy Japan, pushing the arrival to 2015. This time it's no different, with Automotive News reporting that a battery-related request made by California state regulators will push the Outlander PHEV arrival back to "late 2015 or early 2016."
CA authorities want all plug-in hybrids to be fitted with a monitor for the lithium-ion batteries that will be on the lookout for degradation, the concern being that diminished batteries could change the vehicle's emissions. Getting the technology fitted and tested means something like a 16- to 22-month delay.
The extra time, however, should let Mitsubishi figure out what it's going to do about its battery supply since the current level of 4,000 per month isn't enough to support a US launch; the Automotive News article says Mitsubishi expects a volume of 63,000 plug-ins for 2016. The company hasn't said how it plans to make up the balance.

2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb Practice Day 1

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

This year the big news about the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is about who isn't showing up. Sebastien Loeb, fresh off his record setting run last year, hasn't bothered coming back (and probably won't unless someone breaks his record). The Millen family is also noticeably absent. Rhys and Rod have been driving here for the past couple of decades but it looks like Rhys is focusing his efforts on Global RallyCross.
Last year Pikes Peak added a fourth practice day on Tuesday to allow drivers to get more time on the mountain. It's an optional practice day, but most drivers show up.
Today, both Time Attack divisions (1 and 2) as well as Unlimited division drove the lower third of the mountain. Pikes Peak Open, Open Wheel, Electric Production, Electric Modified, Exhibition and Vintage all practiced on the middle section, and bikes power sports did the top section.

Mitsubishi Mirage bows in Montreal without a name, Canadian sales promised

Sun, 20 Jan 2013

The Detroit Auto Show had plenty of major debuts for North American car buyers, but the Montreal Auto Show is being used for the North American debut of a new subcompact hatchback from Mitsubishi. Although this car is unnamed, it is almost identical to the redesigned Mirage we saw back at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show (and has been on sale in Asian markets such as Thailand since last year), but it is unclear if the car will carry this name when it goes on sale for our neighbors to the north starting this fall.
Aside from a slightly less annoying shade the of green we saw the car painted in at the Tokyo show, there are a few changes made for the car's Canadian debut. The biggest difference is that it is almost three inches longer, which is likely a result of the new rear fascia that is also visually different with some altered lines and small, circular reflectors. Other changes include a bigger three-cylinder engine (with a 1.2-liter displacement instead of the Tokyo car's 1.0-liter engine) and headlights that have new amber lenses for side reflectors.
There is still no word as to whether or not we'll see this new car in Mitsubishi's US lineup anytime soon, but it does seem like a good competitor against cars like that Mazda2, Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Accent.
