1997 Mitsubishi 3000gt Sl Coupe 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
1997 3000GT SL for sale. It needs work but runs and drive. I'm in the military and will be deploying soon so I don’t have the time to fix it up or the storage space for it. Paint is fading/peeling from being parked in the sun over the last year. It was rarely driven since I started taking parts off of it. 19” rims and tires were purchased for about $3000. It’ll come with about $2,000 worth of genuine Mitsubishi parts purchased at dealer in Arizona, that I never got around to installing. This is a great project car for someone who has the time and skills to fix her up. V6 engine with about 145k miles, automatic transmission, am/fm cd player, leather interior, power windows/locks and sunroof. Includes new and not installed: 1999 model headlights and sidelights. 1999 model front bumper cover 1999 model rear center garnish Genuine tune up parts (belt, cap, plugs, etc.) Again, this is a fixer upper car. I just want to cover myself by saying not everything functions the way its supposed to and it does need work/repairs. This car is being sold AS IS with no written warrantees of any type. Please email with any inquires if interested. Thank You for looking. |

Mitsubishi Outlander, Evo to keep things safe at Pikes Peak
Tue, 18 Jun 2013Mitsubishi has already announced that it will be returning as a competitor to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a pair of all-electric MiEV Evolution II racecars. In addition to these entrants, the automaker will also be the presenting sponsor of the race as well as providing the official safety vehicles to the event using specially prepped versions of the 2014 Outlander and Lancer Evolution.
While it isn't clear what exactly will be demanded of the safety vehicles, this isn't going to your run-of-the-mill pace car duty. To get the Outlander and Evo ready for the 156-turn, 12.42-mile course, Mitsubishi teamed up with companies such as BBS, Cobb Tuning, AEM and Muellerized Suspension Systems as well as DC Sports and Kenwood to create these one-off safety cars. These vehicles, and all the racecars, will be at Pikes Peak later this month for the 91st running of America's second-oldest racing event. Scroll down for the official press release.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
Mitsubishi boss confirms new Mirage for US; i EV enduring dismal sales
Mon, 12 Nov 2012
By March, Mitsubishi expects to have sold just 55,000 cars in the US this fiscal year. That's a tiny sum - by comparison, Honda has sold over 276,000 Civic models thus far this year - and that's just one vehicle, not an entire brand. Mitsubishi president Osamu Masuko recognizes this is not a tenable position, and he's hoping the company will shift 80,000 units next fiscal year. Warding off speculation, Masuko has repeatedly stated that his company will not retreat from the US market like competitor Suzuki.
We reported on one part of Masuko's plan, the updated Outlander, and now he has confirmed that the small Mirage will be sold in the US beginning next September. The cut-price hatchback is selling well enough that Mitsu's Thailand plant is at its full capacity of 150,000 cars. "And even at that level it's not keeping up with orders," Masuko tells Automotive News. Masuko went on to say the plant would be expanded next year to handle an extra 50,000 units. We can also expect the Outlander plug-in early 2014.
