2009 Mini Cooper S W/ Warranty And Service Plan on 2040-cars
Golden, Colorado, United States
Has a transferable 75,000 mile luxury warranty from First Extended Service Corporation (expires 11/2015) and a Mini service plan that expires in October. I can provide the vehicle maintenance history from Mini if requested.
Mileage: 42,2xx miles. Color: British Racing Green with black stripes on the hood. Interior: Black fabric. Gas mileage: 33mpg. Transmission: Automatic with triptronic and fake-manual shifting. Model: "S", so it has dual exhaust, sport suspension, and Turbo, etc. Title: clean, not salvaged. Condition: Mechanically/functionally perfect (note that I have had the warranty and service plan so anything has been immediately addressed/maintained), cosmetically the exterior has some wear typical to having been driven 40k miles (some scratches and rock chips). The interior is in perfect shape; I've always had seat covers on it, so there's no wear. Tires have good life left. Brake pads were just replaced as part of the service plan. Windshield was just replaced (rock chips). Both windows and sunroof open and close without issue and don't leak. I've always used Premium gas. It has only been in Colorado for about a month, so it's never been through a Colorado winter. No hail damage. No flooding. Clean title. What kind of driver am I? I am the second owner. I think the original owners might have been comatose because they only put on like 27.5k miles in 4 years and I found a Zero7 CD in the player when I bought it. That being said, I have not blown the sound system and I have perpetrated no hoonage in this vehicle. It was my commuter. The ~14k miles I put on it were 95% highway cruising at about 60mph. Reason for selling: My commute has gone down from 350 miles/week to 30 miles/week... so I have more "me time" that's not in a car thereby making a fun car less important. |

Mini might not replace Paceman, Coupe, Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014Nobody could argue at this point that Mini (like its parent company BMW) has not mastered the art (if you could call it that) of filling every niche with its own model. But with the third generation of Mini now upon us, some of the company's strategists are asking themselves what the point is of it all.
The outgoing second-generation Mini spawned too many variants to count. So far the new model has only surfaced in hatchback form, but the brand may roll out quite as many variants this time around. Instead it is looking at its lineup in terms of pillars.
The quintessential hatchback we've already seen would be one pillar. The Countryman crossover would be another. And the production version of the new Clubman concept which Mini displayed in Geneva would be a third. A convertible based (like the existing one and the one that came before it) on the hardtop hatchback is likely to follow, but don't expect too many other versions.
Mini lineup could expand to include up to 10 models, still no hope for Rocketman
Tue, 12 Feb 2013During an event in Ponce, Puerto Rico last week where Mini introduced members of the media to the 2013 Paceman and John Cooper Works GP, product planners discussed that the brand's lineup could expand to eventually include up to 10 bodystyles. Currently, the Mini range consists of seven models: the Hardtop, Clubman, Convertible, Countryman, Coupe, Roadster and Paceman.
Speaking to members of the media, David Duncan, Mini USA sales manager, said that these new models could fall into a range of niches - "any segment that makes sense for a small car." No specific vehicle classes were discussed, but Duncan stated that the possibilities are endless, "as long as we're the smallest player in any segment."
Well, nearly endless. We've been hoping that Mini would re-think its decision to nix plans to create a vehicle smaller than the Hardtop - a notion previewed by the excellent Rocketman concept (shown above) from the 2011 Geneva Motor Show - but the automaker once again stated that this is absolutely off the table. In order to create a vehicle of the Rocketman's size, a completely new platform would have to be engineered (that's expensive), and while Mini has looked into acquiring existing architecture from another brand, parent company BMW has reportedly put the kibosh on such an act. If a Rocketman is ever to be born, BMW/Mini will do it on its own, and right now, that simply isn't in the cards.
Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
