Fort Myers, Florida, United States

Classic muscle car – First generation, 1970 Mercury “walking Cougar” Cougar - Yellow and Black vinyl top with Black interior with eliminator tail spoiler and trim. This Cougars appearance is similar to the 1969 Eliminator model, but numerous changes were made inside and out. Car has the ultimate version for these first generation front ends featuring a pronounced center hood extension and electric shaver grille similar to the 1967 and 1968 Cougars. Locking steering column, all new gauge package by auto meter, and high-back bucket seats, similar to those included in the '69 Eliminator package. The aforementioned new nose along with revised taillight bezels, sequential tail lights, front bumper and front fender extensions, and larger, recessed side markers update the look on the outside. A 325 hp (224 kW) 351 "Cleveland" crate motor with demon 4 barrel motivates this very quick and stylish car. Car has the upgraded "Decor" interior and American Racing aluminum wheels with Uniroyal tiger paws all the way around. Car has rack-n-pinion steering, 12 disc CD changer, AC and drives like a new car. Every nut bolt and washer has been replaced in this very fresh resto-mod classic. This beautiful Cougar is always appreciated in local car shows; gets a lot of waves and turned heads every time we take it out. Hate to have to sell but, no reasonable offer will be turned down!

eBay Find of the Day: Mercury Marauder two-door convertible

Wed, 31 Aug 2011

Never underestimate what you'll see on eBay Motors. Take this unique creation, for example. Near as we can tell, it's the same 2002 Mercury Marauder that was modified into a two-door convertible by Ford for the 2002 Chicago Auto Show. According to the seller, this car still boasts its Eaton supercharger bolted to a 4.6-liter V8 engine, and at the time of its debut, the engine was rated at a lofty 335 horsepower. We have a hard time believing that the extra ponies would do much to offset the weight of the additional frame stiffeners and top mechanism on the car, however.
The vehicle is currently offered for sale by a dealer in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, though the listing is mum on how the convertible managed to make its way from Ford's Windy City show stand into the seller's inventory. If you like what you see, the machine can be yours for the princely sum of $75,000 or best offer. Head over to eBay Motors to take a gander at the listing.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
