I'm selling a 1967 Comet Caliente. it is a 2 dr hardtop. Rebuilt 289 with a Windsor cam and Holley 4bbl intake and 600cfm carb. The trans is a Big C-4 with a mild shift kit and has been rebuilt. Exhaust is a set of Headman shorty headers followed by Flowmaster 2.5 exhaust. I have installed an aftermarket power booster and changed the front to 70 Cougar  disc brakes. The Calipers have been rebuilt and  the rear has new wheel cylinders. The soft hoses are replaced also.  I have  the power steering  pump rebuilt, but haven't got around to the ram or slave cylinder, and hoses yet.  I repaired and  replaced some of the floors due to mice in the car. there are still dents all around the car but all easy to fix. and I found two small rust spots about the size of a pencil eraser in the drivers side rear by bumper ( see Pic ). The rear tail panel still needs to be repaired and I haven't had the chance to do it yet, but I have a complete tail panel to replace the damage. The hood is a true Cyclone hood, complete with inserts edge trim ( in trunk ) and the tag in the back corner under the hood. The car is an A/C car, but the guts to the heater core and vent hoses are missing. I added a standard heater core in trunk until one can be found. The gas tank has been cleaned and have an extra one to go with it.  Extra parts are included  like  front fenders and headlight extensions. quarter panel extensions, and a passenger side  door from a 2 door post and a few misc parts.  The engine runs, and can be driven without the power steering for now. I misplaced the title and have sent away for a new one. It should be here in a couple weeks  and will be sent to the buyer. I'm moving out of state soon and if it don't sell I will just take it with me to finish.   I also am listing this Car locally so I can take the car off ebay if it sells at any time.

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.

Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception

Tue, 25 Sep 2012

It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
