I am helping my father sell his Mercedes Benz SLK230. This is on of the nicest SLK230 Kompressor you will find...period. The red paint is all original, looks amazing and does not have any dings or scratches to speak of at all. It has always been very well maintained and has never been in any type of wreck. The interior is black leather with red leather inserts. No wear on the seats and the original floor mats are in great shape. It has been driven an average of 7600 miles per year with the odometer reading right at 114k. It has the highly sought after 2.3 supercharged Kompressor 4 cylinder that is very tight and does not leak a drop of fluids anywhere. It is super powerful and has lots of torque backed by a 5 speed manual transmission with a perfect clutch. It has the SPORT package to handle any curves that you can throw at it and new ceramic brakes to stop it. It has new Yokahama VK580 tires (225/45/17 on front and 245/40/17 on rear) wrapped around the AMG 5 spoke wheels. Push the button and the retractable hardtop folds back without effort and you have the wind in your hair. This combo makes for a very fun and exciting drive! Believe it or not dad just came back from a trip in which he got 48.54 mpg on the open road in 5th gear. In other words, this is a great car with great features that has many more years/miles of fun left in it. Everything works as it is supposed to and no maintenance issues to tend to. You will not find a more well kept, clean SLK around. You can eat out of the door jambs and trunk jambs as well as under the hood. I will assist with shipping on my end. 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rumbles on stage 4Matic style
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Bruce Hornsby and his soothing piano skills helped introduce us to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but the monstrous E63 AMG sedan needed no entrance music as it rumbled on stage. The 550-horsepower (and up) sedan sat proudly alongside the rest of the redesigned E-Class on stage at the Detroit Auto Show, but stood miles apart in intention and execution.
In addition to a choice of sedan and wagon body styles, the E63 AMG will also offer buyers the choice of the standard 550 hp or an upgraded 577-hp S-Model; regardless of output, all 2014 E63 AMG models will come standard with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.

2014 Mercedes SL and SLK add small expansion to Takata airbag recall
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Mercedes-Benz is the latest automaker to be affected by Takata's massive airbag recall. The company has announced a voluntary recall campaign on a small number of model-year 2014 SLK- and SL-Class roadsters.
In Mercedes' case, 300 vehicles are affected, 200 of which are in the hands of customers. According to spokesperson Donna Boland, the affected roadsters were built between March and April of this year.
The issue, which is apparently the fault of one of Takata's subcontractors, rests with some improperly installed fasteners, which could keep the airbag from performing the way it's supposed to. According to Boland, Mercedes isn't sure what, if any, injuries the recalled airbags could cause, but simply claims there's an increased risk in these particular vehicles. There's been no reported instances of the faulty airbags deploying on a customer and the original issue was found in a production test.

We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.
