Very Nice 1975 Mercedes 450sl Convertible Two Top Roadster. on 2040-cars

Up for auction is a very nice, and well maintained 1975 Mercedes 450 SL Roadster. This Mercedes lived most of its life in Arizona, owned by a older couple, then in 2007 the daughter bought the car from her mother. The car has always been garage kept, and it shows. Nice straight body, with one repaint, only because the mother wanted a blue car, it was originally silver. The paint is nice but it dose have a couple of very small chips. (You must look at pictures closely to see them.) Regular service has been done through out its life. Recent work consists of new fuel pump, new plugs, plug wires, tune up, replaced seals, and gaskets for oil pan. The interior looks fresh, with new seat upholstery, original door panels, and carpeting, all look great. The dash pad dose have a crack down the middle, on the top. All gages work as they should, as dose all the electrical, lights, windows, etc. The only thing on the car that dose not work is the clock. (Could be a fuse.) Newer Michelin radials are on original Mercedes chrome wheels, looks great. Both tops do come with the car, hard top, and folding black cloth soft top. Each top is very nice. This car runs, and drives as you would expect a fine 450 SL Mercedes would. No problems with this car. I'm listing this little Mercedes for the daughter, it's just been sitting, and she never drives it. Her husband just drove the car, 400 miles to me, so I could list it for her. Mercedes dealers authorized to spend $2,500 on perks for S-Class customers
Mon, 02 Dec 2013If you drop $100,000 on a luxury sedan, it seems only reasonable to receive some preferential treatment at the dealership you purchased from. After all, that price isn't just for the car - you're paying for the brand and all the cachet that entails. For Mercedes-Benz, those benefits have apparently been lacking relative to the German brand's luxury competitors.
That's set to change, though, as Automotive News reports that the German brand is placing a much greater emphasis on keeping its customers happy and loyal with its MB Select program. Starting with the new S-Class and spreading to the CLA-Class (and eventually beyond), dealers are being given money - up to $2,500 in the case of the flagship sedan - just to improve the customer experience.
We agree, improving the "customer experience" is quite a vague term, so it's nice that Mercedes USA's CEO, Steve Cannon, offered up some examples to AN at the LA Auto Show. For example, a customer couldn't fit his sunglasses into the overhead compartment. "So we bought him a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses that fit because of their shape," Cannon said.

As I am about to nod off on my long leg flight from Minneapolis to Anchorage ahead of driving to the Arctic Circle, the friendly twenty-something Alaskan knitting furiously in the seat next to me pauses and says, "When you're driving up there, don't open your windows." In the dead of winter? I hadn't planned on cruising alfresco, but her warning to keep the glazing snugged against the weatherstripping is one I would take to heart. She continues: "If you leave 'em open, a fox is liable to jump right in. There are lots of rabid foxes up there, and they leap into your car and just Go. To. Town." And here I was, thinking that a curious bear or maybe an ill-placed moose in the road was going to be my biggest potential four-legged threat. Race Recap: 2013 Japanese Grand Prix flips several scripts [spoilers]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Japan's Suzuka circuit is a great track that all the drivers love, but it doesn't usually provide the most thrilling, head-to-head racing. Where it does excel, however, is with surprises and "What just happened there?!" moments, and this year it was no different.
It started with Mark Webber in his Infiniti Red Bull Racing out-qualifying his teammate Sebastian Vettel for the first time this year. They were followed closely by Lewis Hamilton in the first Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the still-solid Romain Grosjean again outdoing teammate Kimi Räikkönen, Felipe Massa racing for another seat in Formula One and putting his Ferrari in fifth, then Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes, Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber, Fernando Alonso in the second Ferrari, and Räikkönen continuing to do himself no favors by qualifying tenth.
For the second year in a row, the lights going out was the cue to start the first corner action...
