Black Rust Free 380sl With A New Soft Top. This Car Runs And Drives Great on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:153000 Color: is in good shape
Location:

Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Nashville, Tennessee, United States

This 1985 MERCEDES BENZ 380sl is a beautiful car that is exciting to drive. It accelerates and handles as it was designed to do. The exterior is in good shape, the body is very straight with no rust at all. The motor performs well and the transmission shifts as it should. The paint is in good condition, has been well taken care of and holds a fantastic shine; there are a few blemishes on the trunk. The car has a brand new black soft top less than a month old and the hard top is in good condition too. The chrome is in good shape and holds a brilliant shine. The bumpers look good, the rear bumper has a few dents and scratches but all the rubber around the bumpers is in great shape with very little sign of weathering. The wheels are in great shape and have a nice set of Michelin tires with a lot of tread life left. The interior is in very good condition, leather seats are in great shape showing little wear however there is a small hole on the drivers side bolster about the size of a dime. All the lights, wipers and dash gauges work as they should with the exception of the odometer. The odometer stopped working at the end of last year but I assume it has had less than 500 miles put on it since. An aftermarket radio and speakers have been installed but the original radio also comes with the car. The dash clock and cruise control work perfectly as do the power windows.  The vinyl on the rear top deck has a few tears and the vinyl on the side of the bottom deck has a hole in it. The car has working AC but the coolant level is low so it just blows cool not cold as of now. The car comes with a good clean CarFax that show no accidents or damage. This is a great Mercedes Benz convertible that produces not only a luxurious ride but will deliver it in timeless style. 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Make way for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, the most wonderfully preposterous car I have ever driven.
There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.

Watch Schumacher's hot lap of N"urburgring in Mercedes F1 car

Fri, 31 May 2013

In advance of the Nürburgring 24-hour race last weekend, Mercedes-Benz put on a demonstration that had Michael Schumacher playing catch-up in a Formula One car against four examples of AMG metal. There were four cars sent off in staggered starts before Schumacher: an A45 AMG, E63 AMG 4Matic, SLS AMG Black Series, and an SLS AMG GT3 car. "Mr. Formula One," as the German television commentators call him, left three minutes after the SLS AMG GT3.
There are two videos of Schumacher's lap, the first is on-board footage - and even though there were several GoPros on the car the POV never cuts away from the front wing. You can hear the throttle and tell he's not pushing it, you can also tell how bumpy the track is. The second video is footage from the German Sport1 channel - with commentary in German - that shows all the cars taking off and takes the aerial view of proceedings. He looks to be going a lot faster in that one. You can compare and contrast yourself with the videos below.
Oh, and it's worth noting that, even with the likely restricted car, and the made-for-TV environment, Schumi turned in a quick lap. The nose camera shows the F1 car start to slow down on the back straight, near the start/finish line, right around the modern-length track record time of six minutes and eleven seconds.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
