Vehicle Description
Just arrived is this incredible, all original, and ultra-low mileage example of the R107 series Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, in the most sought after trim and color combination (Signal Red and Cream Beige leather). This SL has had two owners since new, and was first used as a summer-only car in Ontario, Canada by the original owner, who then sold it to his neighbor a few years later (2001), where it became a winter-only car in Naples, Florida.
As a person who has dealt in scores of these cars over the years, both privately and working for a company that specializes in them - I can say without reservation or hesitation that this is the finest example I have ever seen. It is an absolute show car, and I always err on the side of caution when describing these cars to people - preferring that a buyer be pleasantly surprised rather than let down. That said, I can simply find nowhere to fault this incredibly preserved machine, from the condition of the paint, to the perfect leather and wood, to the immaculate carpet, to the wear-free buttons and switches, to the no cracks on the dash, to the supple original soft top with crystal clear windows, to the drive quality, and to the remarkable maintenance its had to be in such excellent mechanical health. It literally drives like new, and shows no leaks or trouble of any kind, with cold AC, proper heat, excellent vacuum control, and no issues anywhere.
Being originally sold in Canada, this car - while otherwise identical in every way to a US model - has a speedometer/odometer in kilometers instead of miles, and a temperature gauge in Celsius. It just turned 60,024 KM, which works out to 37,297 miles. The KM reading makes it a prime candidate for export to Europe, or if it is sold to the US, we can have our workshopdo a documented speedometer/odometer change (if desired) to switch from the KM to miles.
It has the original hard top in excellent condition, and has been freshly serviced by our Bosch-certified workshop. It includes all factory keys and books, including two masters and one valet. It has had no paintwork anywhere, no body rust on the top or bottom (never driven in snow, and the last owner swears never driven in rain!), and the factory wheels are in stellar condition all around, with fresh Goodyear tires. This car is incredibly original, down to the factory spare tire and wheel, first aid box, and still-sealed toolkit! If you're looking for one to collect or drive very sparingly as it appreciates, then look no further - this is the right car. Phone us at (239) 273-1150 or (239) 261-3600 for sales information.

Top up or top down, this car is stunning.
The sides are straight and smooth with no dings or road wear.
The lenses and brightwork all look like new.
The clarity of the lenses is incredible.
The car still has its silver wiper arms, long gone
on many of these cars, and now costing more
than $200 for a set.
Additionally, the glass is all original.
The last generation of this car wore 16-hole "flat"
wheels in 15" diameter. These original alloys are in
excellent condition, with fresh Goodyear Eagles.
The original leather inside is in remarkable condition.

Mentioned at the debut of the redesigned Mercedes-Benz E-Class back in January, Mercedes has finally pulled back the curtain on the E63 AMG S, which was on display at the New York Auto Show in wagon guise. The 2014 E63 AMG S ups the ante even more from a "base" E63 AMG, improving the car's performance and styling - not that it needed help with either to begin with. Our favorite S-model upgrade is the added output tweaked out of the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, which represents a substantial gain of 27 hp and 59 lb-ft of torque over the stock E63. In wagon form, the E63 AMG S can run from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. All 2014 E63 AMGs come with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, but the S-Model adds in a limited-slip rear differential for improved performance. Mercedes has made sure that the extra money being spent on the S-Model is instantly noticeable with slightly different design cues and black along with 10-spoke wheels with red brake calipers peeking through. Plenty of silver-chrome and high-gloss black accents finish off the exterior styling, while the interior adds Alcantara on the steering wheel, accent stitching on the leather and contrasting silver seat belts on models with the black interior. Scroll down for an official video and press release.
Some executives in the automotive industry stay with one company for their entire careers, while others bounce from one to the other, often leaving their indelible mark on each automaker at which they serve. Bob Lutz is certainly an example of the latter. So is Lee Iacocca, having presided over Ford and later charing the Chrysler board. Carlos Tavares was chief operating officer of Renault before being nominated as chief executive at PSA Peugeot Citroën. But as far as the Germans go, nobody's jumped from the leadership of one automaker to the next quite like Bernd Pischetsrieder - especially now that he's been named to the supervisory board of Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler. An engineer by training, Pischetsrieder started his career at BMW in 1973, eventually rising to the office of CEO after twenty years. There he remained until 1999, only to be dismissed after orchestrating BMW's takeover of the Rover Group (of which only the Mini brand remains in the company's portfolio, the other brands having been sold off after his dismissal). The next year he was named chairman of Volkswagen's Seat brand, and rose to the chairmanship of the entire Volkswagen Group two years later. Despite a largely successful four-year tenure (that gave birth, incidentally, to the Bugatti Veyron), disagreements with supervisory board chairman Ferdinand Piëch saw him leave the helm at VW AG, focusing his attention on the Scania truck division. He's since been touted as a potential chief executive for Opel and for Continental, but neither potential was apparently realized.
A few weeks ago, we brought you news from the launch of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante that the British brand, which is formally known as Aston Martin Lagonda, was still planning on going ahead with a Lagonda-badged crossover. Now comes word that that vehicle could very well be based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class. When the first Lagonda Concept debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it sat on a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class platform, some four years before Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG deal was inked. And with that partnership, which will see Aston Martin gain access to AMG electrics and "bespoke, V8 powertrains," the opportunities for platform sharing are many. Dr. Ulrich Bez, the boss of Aston Martin, told the UK's AutoCar, "I look at what Porsche is doing with the 911 as its core business and then it is able to do models like the Cayenne based on the Volkswagen Touareg. It is good business." We've said many times that we'll tolerate exotic CUVs and SUVs if it means keeping the beloved core models alive, which has been the case with Porsche. We see no reason Aston Martin wouldn't be able to do the same.
