18,179 Original Miles! on 2040-cars
Hartly, Delaware, United States
I challenge you to find another car of this age, in this condition, with 18,179 ORIGINAL miles on it! I bought this fantastic car for fun just under 4 years ago, and have put less than 1,000 miles on it. As a small business owner, my schedule just hasn't allowed the time to cruise around for fun. I am only the 3rd owner of this car, with the 2nd owner simply facilitating the sale from the dealership to which the car was traded by the original owner years ago. The car was parked at an auxiliary lot and forgotten, found only when the dealership went out of business. This is the proverbial "barn find"...parked and forgotten. The registration records bear this out, as do the items that have been replaced due to the car just sitting idle...new radiator, new fuel lines, new tires, new O2 sensor, new blue-tooth compatible radio, and new battery, plus I have had the wheels professionally refinished.
Adding to the value of this great car, is the fact that it has the original windshield with the original Mercedes Benz stickers on the lower corners, plus the original price sticker and all service manuals and brochures included with the original delivery. It also has the original first aid kit and top-changing tool with it. This car is a solid "10-footer", with far less exterior wear than one would expect on a car of this age. There is a small tear in the leather on the passenger seat, a small tear in the original soft top, and crack in the leather dashboard. But none of these cosmetic flaws compares to the fact that this car has only 18,179 ORIGINAL miles on it. Flaws can be fixed, but these original miles are going to be hard to find elsewhere! The car is tagged to drive, has tremendous pick-up, and a very smooth ride. I am happy to assist with making shipping arrangements through our local UPS Store, if you desire. I have set a low reserve price, compared to the NADA values for this car (see picture). Please feel free to email me with any questions, but please ask your questions before before bidding, not after the auction ends. Thanks! |

European automakers gear up for Brazilian production
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.
2015 Mercedes C-Class order guide leaked
Wed, 23 Apr 2014We may not have an official starting price for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but as of right now, we can tell you about all the options for the eagerly anticipated new luxury sedan.
Benz Report has the entire order guide for the C-Class, with breakdowns from package pricing to how many different colors, wheel designs and lighting configurations will be available when the new model hits dealers later this year. As we mentioned in our initial review of the C-Class, there will be a pair of engine options, with the now familiar 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6, which can be had in all-wheel drive, only.
From there, though, the available options are impressive. Much like it does on the current car, Mercedes is offering a pair of packages that sort of define the entire car. With the C300, buyers will have the choice of either a Sport or Luxury package in addition to the base trim, while C400 buyers are limited to the Sport model.
Mercedes has already booked 30k orders for new S-Class
Mon, 21 Oct 2013When Toyota snags 30,000 Corolla orders over a three-month span, it's entirely possible we're in the midst of a global economic collapse and that the end is nigh. That's because the scale for Toyota is so very large. Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, operates on a much smaller scale, particularly when we talk about its higher-end models, like the S-Class.
In 2012, Mercedes sold 65,000 of its flagship sedans in Germany and the EU. That's 178 units per day, for 365 days. Based on that, you can imagine the excitement at Stuttgart when it accepted 30,000 orders for the new S-Class in just three months. That's an average of 333 per day on a continent with a notoriously shaky economy. Now, admittedly, this enthusiasm could wane as the refitted S-Class becomes more common and Mercedes achieves market saturation in Europe's many chauffeur and livery services, but Mercedes isn't choosing to look at it that way.
"The new S-Class has already jumped back into the lead in terms of new vehicle registrations in Germany and its neighboring European countries," Mercedes-Benz head of sales and marketing, Ola Kaellenius, said in a statement last week.
