Awesome Mercedes R500 Wagon.  Full time All wheel drive, Loaded with everything;  All leather interior, wood trim, heated seats, dvd player, navigation, upgraded stereo, 3rd row seating, removable rear center console, air ride suspension with push button ride height adjustment, panoramic roof, auto liftgate, power everything, homelink, memory seats, tri zone climate control, power rear vent windows, heated rear seats, separate rear audio and headphone jacks/ rear entertainment, rear power outlets, steering wheel controls, automatic wipers, on and on and on.  This is a top of the line Mercedes R series, which retailed over $70K new.  We bought it 2 years ago for $27k for family trips.  Have recently had the rear brakes done, and $350 Service done April 2-3rd at Mercedes dealer.  This car is in really good shape.  Had to have the rear bumper repainted due to a tap in the rear at a stop sign,  only paint scuffs, fully professionally repaired.  This is a great family car and is actually quite sporty.  You wont believe how well this car handles and corners for such a large, heavy car.

Exterior 9 out of 10 - due to having to have the rear bumper painted (I have the documents from the repair)
Engine 10 out of 10 - no issues
Electronics 10 out of 10 - no issues
Interior 9 out of 10 - Only issue is chipped aluminum coating on lower right of steering wheel (See photo), was there when we bought the car and has not gotten worse.
Tires - Good
Brakes - Good
Audio - Awesome
AC - Perfect
All lights work, just replaced the drive front parking light

Let me know if you have any questions  I am open to offers, but I think my price is EXTREMELY reasonable.  I may consider a trade for a nice harley (night train) and some cash, but it would have to be a really good deal for me.

EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi

Sun, 25 Nov 2012

EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.

Race Recap: Singapore Grand Prix is about a safety car and submission

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

The Singapore Formula One Grand Prix is the Monaco GP of the Orient - a weekend known more for its glamour and time-slot than on-track action, with a temporary circuit that punishes every mistake, usually terminally.
Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas got the best of Free Practice 1, opening the curtain on a possible resurgence of Silver Arrows performance. By the time qualifying was done, though, it was his teammate Nico Rosberg who lined up second on the grid, followed by Romain Grosjean with a beautiful performance in the Lotus, Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull, and Hamilton all the way back in fifth. Behind them were Felipe Massa outqualifying Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button getting the McLaren into eighth, Daniel Ricciardo with another good Q3 effort to get into ninth, and the shocker of Esteban Gutiérrez getting his Sauber into the top ten for the first time this year.
At the front of the pack was Sebastian Vettel. Again. But he was only ahead of Rosberg by a single tenth of a second...

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
