My wife and I are selling our 2002 ML320.  The vehicle has been great, reliable and is very clean.  There are a few scratches on the paint and there is a crack in the plastic front lower bumper.  Please see photos.  The interior of the vehicle is very clean as we do not smoke and we don't own pets.  The leather seats are near perfect and are scratch free and there are no holes or tears.  Vehicle is a Designo Package which includes matching interior 2-tone leather seats.  The stereo in the vehicle is a BOSE stereo, but needs a new amplifier as the current amplifier works only some of the time.  For an 11-year old vehicle it only has 101,000 miles.  Always garage kept and routinely washed.  This vehicle was brought to Wisconsin from TX in 2008.

Why are we selling?  My wife and I have decided to get a new vehicle and we don't have the room for three.

Local pick up only.  If you want the vehicle shipped you will have to make arrangements for that through a 3rd party.

Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.

Why all of this year's F1 noses are so ugly [w/video]

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class spied once again

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

As evidenced by how little camouflage the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been caught wearing lately, it can't be too much longer until the car will get its official debut. In our newest shots of the yacht-sized luxo sedan, the cladding still covers up the headlights, front fascia and most of the rear end, but we finally have an almost undisguised look at the rest of the car's lines.
Considering previous spy shots had more camo that better (or fully) concealed the S-Class' body, some of the more obvious things we see in these images include the prominent grille, the CLS-Class-inspired bodyside creases, the pointed trunk opening and, most interestingly, a lack of fancy exhaust outlets. Unlike other S-Class prototypes we've seen, this car does not have integrated outlets, but it does have two pipes on the left side of the car. All current S-Class models in the US and Europe feature a dual exhaust layout on each side of the car, so while some of our questions about the car get answered, it would appear that more are just arising.
