Up for auction is a 1997 Mercedes Benz E420.  This car has been garage kept at our family vacation home most of its exsistance.  It has always been owned by one of our family members as seen through the title.   There are only 113,000 miles on this car.  It has new wheels and tires with an extra set of 3 tires at about 75% of life left.  Hoses have been replaced because of age and a full tune up was preformed less then 2 weeks ago with service records and mechanics phone number.  This car has been serviced by the same (Mercedes only Mechanic) for the last 10 years.  Car runs and looks great.

Defects.

There are no known Mechanical defects.  (Car was fully serviced and gone through, including the mercedes computer with nothing found.)

Air conditioning system just fgot fully flushed on 4/4/2013

Car includes $1,200 flip screen DVD, Blue Tooth, Nav System*, with Ipod/Pad/Phone connecting cord for Iphione 5 as well as old models. Screen flips down to be hidden and give a very clean look.  Nav system is not currently hooked up but supported as well as XM and Sirus radio.

Car was purchased fully loaded with every option (Including back screen visior that is controlled in the front for sun protection in day and privacy at night)  Only option left out was heated seats.  It is a California car and the need for heated seats for the 2 days of the year that it actually goes below 60 degrees just seemed useless.

Cosmetic Defects.

There is slight rashing on the front passenger bumper corner that I gave a picture of.

There is a ding on the drivers side that is just to the side of the back door.  It is the size of a nickle.  There are some various surface scratches that appear here and there but nothing that really sticks out.  As you can see by the pictures it is in really nice shape.

I will answer any questions and have no problem forwarding the mechanics phone number (who trained in Germany 30 years ago at the mercedes plant to be a mercedes mechanic) if there are any concerns or technical questions.

Buyer is responsible for pick-up or hiring a shipping company.  I will assist an any way possible to help with shipping but it is buyer responsibility.

Because item is used it is sold as is

Mercedes A45 AMG in downhill battle with slipstream skateboarder

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We're told it takes "performance, control and expression" to pilot a longboard skateboard down a mountain road, and that those happen to be the same values embodied in the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. That's how the two came to be combined in a black-and-white short film called Silver Slipstream.
There's no talking, no engine note and no color, just some music, a 'boarder and a car on a long cruise down the Franschhoek Pass in the Western Cape of South Africa." Despite that, it's actually a pretty entertaining video of the latest Mercedes-Benz hot hatch married with extreme sports. You can watch how it all goes down in the video below.

Why all of this year's F1 noses are so ugly [w/video]

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.

How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome? Add an axle

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.
Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.
But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.
