I am selling my 2004 Mercedes e55 AMG. It is in excellent condition inside and out. The 5.5 liter supercharged motor runs like new and is extremely fast. It produces 469 hp and 517 ft pounds or torque. That is enough to get the car from 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds and cover the 1/4 mile in 12.2 miles. The interior is black leather. The headliner is factory suede. All buttons work as they should. It has a sunroof, 6 disc cd changer, three mode transmission, sport, comfort and manual. Cruise, ice cold air, air suspension that is adjustable for firmness and also allows you to lift the car higher for snow and speed bumps. The car has 123,000 miles, runs perfect and has no malfunction lights at all. It has self adjusting HID headlights. Dual exhaust with 4 chrome tips. The factory amg wheels have been plasti dipped gunmetal gray and look awesome. The tires are brand new Bridgestone potenza's. I also have a second set of after market rims with blizzaks that were new this year. The car has no rust at all. The trunk is huge. Has rear seat heat/ac controls with LCD readout. Has built in navigation with 7" screen. Home link garage door opener built into the rear view mirror. Memory seats, that are also heated. There is so much more to say about this car but most people looking at this ad, already know what a special car this is. I am only selling to have money for a down payment on a new house for my family and it pains me to even list it. I have a clean title in hand. Please call 612-615-6704. This is a very rare car and they don't come up for sale very often, especially in this good a condition, so here's you chance to own a legend of a car that will destroy 98% of the cars on the road. This is the ultimate sleeper and track day car.

Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).

Mercedes widens luxury sales gap on strong early CLA demand

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Mercedes-Benz CLA sales have been booming, with the Stuttgart-based manufacturer moving 2,300 of the sleek four-doors in its first week on sale. That is astonishing. Mercedes moved nearly twice as many CLAs (which start at $29,900) in one week than Jaguar, a brand that is on a very solid roll, sold in all of September. Ignoring the price differences between the Jag line and the CLA, that is still wildly impressive.
Mercedes has been pushing the CLA in television ads, using a shortened version of its Super Bowl spot, which starred William Dafoe, Usher and Kate Upton. "As the bargain entrance into the Mercedes portfolio, we weren't sure how luxury buyers would react," Kelly Blue Book auto analyst Alec Gutierrez told Bloomberg.
The CLA push was just part of MB's 6.7-percent increase in September sales, which were also helped along by a 17-percent jump in E-Class sales. That surge has allowed Mercedes to widen its 2013 sales lead over its rival, BMW, to 2,491 cars, according to Bloomberg. If CLA sales continue at this rate, we can only expect that margin to grow.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
