This eBay auction is for my favorite car. " old blue" my first Mercedes! I purchased it used in 07 with 69,000 miles on it. I wanted a safe car for my daughter, and all the things you bring when you have kids! When the economy turned bad I worked for a family part time getting their kids (3 boys)  back and forth to airports and NYC weekly from a private school in New England. I put 100,000 miles on it in 4 years!  Since the 75k mark I have only used mobile one synthetic oil and did the oil changes every 6k miles. Because its a 4matic I always replaced the tires as a complete set making sure tires were matched in weight. Tires were balanced as part of oil change procedure because of the amount of driving I was doing.

About a year ago a friend of mine was going to polish the haze of the headlights he called and said car wouldn't start. Turns out after weeks of research the eis unit had gone bad.  No one but MB could fix the car. I had the car towed to the closest MB dealership. 40 miles! They were more interested in trying to sell me a car than fixing mine. Short story is they wouldn't work on car until they did a 1,000.00. Diagnostic on it. I said I'll  pay you to replace the eis. They assured me they didn't work that way, and would not refund diagnostic if it was in fact he EIS. Not wanting to spend $2,500.00 on this fishing trip I had the car towed back to my Mechanic in hopes of finding a matching eis for my car. I have since purchased another MB Wagon and the Private school driving is going pretty well so I am purchasing another MB Wagon. I just don't have the time to put into getting this one back on the road.

The bad- besides the car not starting passengers rear window needs a window motor. I have it and it will be included in auction. There is a new seat switch for driver seat however seat can be difficult. Sunroof only opens about four inches I never used it so didn't much car about it.

The good and Great
Car has new tires all around with about 1000 miles on them. Ac is ice cold Bose sound system is crazy! This car was better in the snow than my Chevy Avalanche seriously! I have had it so deep I have left gas tank marks in people's driveways. 4 Matic is the only way to go!! The day this car didn't start was bad, other than that it has never left me stranded.
The motor is strong and the transmission worked  great. I replaced the front drive shaft at 120k miles. I have spent the money having things fixed and it serviced regularly because  I honestly thought I would drive her till she died. I don't want to scrap her she's been to good a car for that. If I had the time a resources ( my mechanic buddies all have kids now no time ) I would get her going again, but realistically that's not gonna happen. Please ask questions I will answer them as soon as I can.

Check other auctions. These cars run 300k easy. The body is solid. I have 2 other cars both MB Wagon this is not the prettiest but still my favorite one. Clients prefer the newer models and what they say goes, so the old girls gotta go.  Good luck bidding.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Make way for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, the most wonderfully preposterous car I have ever driven.
There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.

New Mercedes Unimog debuts to the cheers of little boys everywhere [w/video]

Sat, 27 Apr 2013

The Mercedes Unimog, the superhero villain of the off-road world that's just waiting to make the jump to Transformer, has been completely upgraded for its new generation. There are ten models, expanding the range and getting new designations across the traditional all-terrain series and the implement-carrier series. Panoramic cabins get more visibility, multifunction steering wheels and better dash clusters, improved HVAC and a three-mode central tire inflation system. Outside, there are new items like LED headlights and daytime running lamps in the bumper, roof-mounted windshield wipers and a front-camera monitor for the implement carrier.
The new engine lineup is compliant with Euro VI, featuring four- and six-cylinder BlueEfficiency engines putting out anywhere from 156 horsepower to 354 hp. Powerplant placement has also been tweaked, the chassis members getting a revised curve to place the engine a bit further back and lower, maintaining off-road clearance and lowering the Unimog's center of gravity. The new location of the engine means the cabin has more room, and the wheelbase is shorter. Combined with a higher turning angle, the Unimog has a smaller turning radius than before.
The implement carrier gets what's called a "synergistic traveling drive," the bonus being that drivers don't need to stop in order to use an attachment - a hydrostatic transmission works with the regular manual transmission at up to 31 kilometers per hour for seamless switching.

Maybach officially discontinues all models for 2013

Tue, 14 Aug 2012

The word "Maybach" has joined the long list of synonyms for the word "kaput." Mercedes-Benz released the price list for the 2013 models of its super-luxury sedans, with the price column simply stating "Discontinued" for each one of them.
The 2012 models, should there be any left for 11th-hour buyers, maintain the increased MSRPs that Daimler slapped on them late last year after it was known the brand would be terminated next year. But you might still be able to wrangle that $100,000 rebate if you ask nicely, or in Russian, or have Rick Ross ask for you.
It shouldn't be too long before we see the ultimate version of the next generation S-Class, the S600 Pullman, that will replace Maybach. Intriguingly, it's said the Pullman will be offered with every S-Class engine, even the four-cylinder diesel.
