2005 Mercedes Benz Clk 500 2 Door on 2040-cars
Thousand Oaks, California, United States
My family has owned this Mercedes for about 3 years. My Dad bought it for my Mom as a birthday gift. However, he was a bit hopeful because she was 83 then and really didn't drive much, so she put very few miles on the car. Unfortunately, my Mom is 86 and in poor health now and can't drive any longer, so we have decided to sell the car. The car is in excellent condition. It has it's original silver paint and black interior. I will try to describe carefully the various aspects of the car as accurately as possible.
Body--Excellent condition, no dents or dings. There has never been any damage to the car during our ownership. My Dad was told by the previous owner that the car is all original and has never been subject to any damage. Paint--The paint is in excellent condition The only flaws I could find were a couple of very small scratches but they were small enough to where they would not show up in the photos when I tried to photograph them. We have been told that the scratches could be polished out. Tires- Tires are in very good condition. They look like they have about 75% of tread left on them. Wheels- The car has chrome AMG wheels which are in very nice condition. I didn't notice any unusual wear on them and the finish on the chrome is very nice Interior- The interior on the car is also in excellent condition. No rips, tears or scuffs. The only flaw I could find was that the cigarette lighter is missing. My Mom and Dad don't smoke. The interior smells fresh, so it seems that no one has ever smoked in the car. Mechanicals- The car runs and drives like a new car. It basically does everything that its supposed to do. The engine/transmission sound and feel good. The brakes work well and stop the car properly. All of the switches and controls work properly on the car. The car has it's original owners manual in excellent condition. The sunroof is a nice feature and it works perfectly. Conclusion- So that's about it. In closing I will just say that I feel confident that the new owner will be getting a truly excellent example of a Mercedes CLK 500 in this car. That said, my Dad told me that since it's a used car, I have to include that the car is sold "as is and with all faults." All the best and good luck bidding :) |

Mercedes releases 6x6 G63 AMG specs and pics [w/video]
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Mercedes-Benz has finally dropped full details on its insane G63 AMG 6x6. The machine puts 544 horsepower to all six wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8. A seven-speed gearbox shuttles power to the ground via three sets of portal axles, which helps give this machine a full 15.75 inches of ground clearance. By comparison, the standard G63 AMG sits with just 8.27 inches of ground clearance. The extra lift allows this 6x6 to ford nearly 40 inches of water and run massive 37-inch tires. All told, there are five differential locks on this thing, all controlled by a special "locking logic" that provides the best traction possible for any given situation.
The controls offer up three stages of locking, which we can only assume range from JKLOL to OMGWTF. Right now, AMG says this monstrosity is only a show vehicle, but we imagine it wouldn't take much to convince the team to whip up one of your very own. Check out our full gallery and the press release below for all the nitty gritty. While you're down there, you can also check out the video on the machine one more time.
Aston Martin and Daimler continue talks on SUV project, CEO required
Tue, 01 Apr 2014The Aston Martin Lagonda SUV concept revealed at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show didn't earn the plaudits the company is used to when it reveals new models, and it has lived an uncertain life ever since. Thought to have been scrapped along with the entire revival of the Lagonda brand, then thought to have been resurrected due to Chinese, Middle Eastern and Russian demand, another year passed before we heard more definitive talk about an Aston Martin expansion when AutoCar reported that the Lagonda could be built on one of Mercedes-Benz's AMG SUV platforms.
A report in Automotive News Europe indicates plans have gotten serious, its unnamed sources saying that the English carmaker is talking to Daimler "to extend their cooperation to building an SUV." Neither Daimler, Aston Martin nor Investindustrial, the managing partner among Aston Martin's ownership consortium, would comment. But with Investindustrial having pledged to expand the range, competitors like Bentley, Maserati and Lamborghini getting into the SUV racket and clear demand from current and future customers, it's easy to believe Aston Martin is working hard to put the pieces together.
One further potential bump on the road to an Aston SUV is the company's search for a new CEO. Ulrich Bez relinquished to top spot at the company at the end of 2013, and Aston reportedly will not finalize its model strategy without a new CEO in place.
First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out
Mon, 10 Feb 2014With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.
