1985 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL Within the last four years this car has been almost completely refurbished, it was repainted original color (glasso paint on rust free body). The interior is in great condition with new dash cap. The very nice leather seats are crack free and in beautiful condition which include new front leather bottom seat covers. The carpet is also in great condition, no wear spots. The radio was recently serviced by the guys from Becker in New Jersey. The only problem I see with the car is that the ABS light is currently on. I am listing this for a elderly friend who's wife recently passed away. The following components have been replaced: - Remanufactured fuel distributor - New injectors, - New plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. - Water pump and thermostat - Idle control valve - Fuel pump - Timing chain, tensioner and guides - New rotors, calipers and brake pads - New flex brake hoses - The transmission fluid and power steering fluid have been changed with new filters - New ball joints, including tie rods and ends Please contact the owner directly. 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup shows its freshened face
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Mercedes-Benz showed us its redesigned 2014 E-Class more than a month ago, but the Detroit Auto Show finally gave us a chance to see the full family of mid-size luxury cars and wagons in the flesh. Dieter Zetsche introduced the cars, including sedan, coupe, convertible and station wagon, on stage showing the stylish new design direction.
The wagon and sedan versions (shown as the E400 Hybrid above) will go on sale this spring, while the coupe and cabriolet will hit showrooms over the summer. Check our new gallery of live shots for the entire 2014 E-Class lineup, as well as the previously released press release below.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
