1979 Mercedes-benz 450sel 102k/ac/4dr/at/runs/drives/no Rust/title -barn Find- on 2040-cars
Austin, Texas, United States
I have for sale here, my 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL.
This Benz was put in an enclosed storage unit back in 1999 and sat there for 13 years. When I got her last year there were no keys, and I couldn't find the original title. So I had to get a bonded title made up for me (which I have) so that I could get a new key cut at the dealership. Once they cut me the key, I was able to unlock the doors and trunk, and found the original title, so I've got that too. I changed all essential fluids before starting her and so we have the good and bad below: The Good: New(er) tires New Fuel Pump Runs and Drives Radiator gets up to temperature just fine, and stays cool No Rust A/C Works Shifts fine through all gears 102,000 miles All electrical components work* -radio/tape deck -wipers -gauges -windows -turn signals -all lights Have original and current title Upgrade Factory Rims VERY clean interior** Aftermarket/factory upgrade body kit The Bad:: Clear-coat is flaking which makes the exterior look a bit ugly (it could benefit from a paint job) *Sunroof tries to work, I hear the motor but it wouldn't quite open **There is a tear in the backseat leather (refer to pictures) **The front dash has cracks in it (refer to pictures) Windshield washer fluid reservoir is cracked and needs replacement (refer to pictures) Small Exhaust leak coming from the pipe just under the driver's seat (doesn't leak into the cab) The body kit has one crack a few inches long by the exhaust pipe The woodgrain around the shifter has surface cracks (look at pictures) She could use some semi-restoration/project style work, but otherwise is in pretty good shape given its age. Let me know if there are any questions, or if I failed to address anything. While she does run and drive and stay at temp, I can't 100% guarantee she's "road ready" for any type of exhaustive journey. +/-Daryl 512-219-1981 |

2013 Airstream Interstate 3500 EXT
Mon, 19 Aug 2013LA To The Grand Canyon In The Mercedes-Benz Of RVs
Piloting an 8,500-pound motorized house down the highway is far from my idea of fun, yet inexplicably, I'm enjoying myself. My grin has nothing to do with my camper's handling, as this heavily accoutered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter drives like a 25-foot long breadbox. My smile has nothing to do with on-road stability, as the ten-foot-tall, slab-sided vehicle reacts to wind gusts like the vertical stabilizer on a Boeing jet. My delight has nothing to do with its throttle or braking response, either, as both are as numb as your forehead after the eighth beer.
This monstrosity makes me happy for one reason - my passengers are undeniably having a good time.
How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome? Add an axle
Fri, 01 Mar 2013We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.
Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.
But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.
2015 Mercedes C-Class order guide leaked
Wed, 23 Apr 2014We may not have an official starting price for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but as of right now, we can tell you about all the options for the eagerly anticipated new luxury sedan.
Benz Report has the entire order guide for the C-Class, with breakdowns from package pricing to how many different colors, wheel designs and lighting configurations will be available when the new model hits dealers later this year. As we mentioned in our initial review of the C-Class, there will be a pair of engine options, with the now familiar 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6, which can be had in all-wheel drive, only.
From there, though, the available options are impressive. Much like it does on the current car, Mercedes is offering a pair of packages that sort of define the entire car. With the C300, buyers will have the choice of either a Sport or Luxury package in addition to the base trim, while C400 buyers are limited to the Sport model.
