For sale is a 1977 Mercedes Benz 450SL with a clean California title in hand. No accidents. The body is clean and straight and the paint is original. This car was in good condition when I parked it on my driveway over a year ago and it suddenly stopped running. The mileage also stopped at 104,000 original miles. I took the pictures during sunset and the glares are coming from the sun. It is non operational. Must be towed. This car is impressive in how it looks. When I used to drive it, people are instantly attracted to it and often stop to ask me questions on what year it is and how long have I had it. Sometimes they share a story of their own and reminisce about the past. There is something very romantic about getting behind the wheel of a classic car and makes you popular. This is just that kind of car. The car is sold as is. Out of state buyers can have the car shipped at their expense. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. The successful high bidder will submit a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]

There have been five Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?
Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.

Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand
Wed, 22 Jun 2011When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).
