See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"this car is 35 years old and honestlty looks like it just rolled off of the showroom floor. everything about it is close to perfect. there is minimal deterioration of rugs, and what there is is result of age not use. Vinyl seats are perfect.l A couple of typical cracks over dash which are pictured. NO rust, below or above. Dime sized place on trunk lid that is beginning to bubble. Mercedes this old and in this kind of pristine condition is RARE."

Up for sale is my 1978 300D. This car has never been in an accident and the body has virtually no dings or scratches. Likewise NO rust, below or above. Deep lustrous silver is original paint and it looks better than paint on brand new cars, my opinion. Engine is beautiful, original, strong and surprisingly quiet. LOW miles and everyone knows these cars will go and go if oil is kept changed every 3000. Example: the fiberglass bonnet under hood is perfect, no burns or stains, ditto the bottom of trunk lid. Tires are 6 months old, less than 3000 miles on them. The interior is in same pristine condition. A really beautiful blue color (vinyl, which doesn't rot) which looks great with the  silver exterior. AC works amazing, monster compressor on this car. Heat also works great. Power windows yes. Back windows a little stuttery halfway down but i never use them so it didn't bother me. Head ceiling is white and perfect, no tears or stains. Carpets haver deteriorated a little in back but this is due to age. I didn't disturb them. They look fine, just fragile. Front rugs are good. Original Becker radio and front/rear speakers sound great.  I bought this on ebay a year ago and it had 89 thousand miles. I love the car and am selling it only because i need the cash. Feel free to ask any questions and i will do my best to answer.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupe

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Mercedes-Benz upgraded its SLS flagship Coupe and Roadster for the 2013 model year, and the changes are marked with them new "GT" nomenclature. Both SLS models arrive with a retuned naturally aspired 6.2-liter V8 delivering 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque (the horses are up from 563, but the torque remains the same) mated to a revised seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox. Rounding out the mechanical upgrades is a redeveloped AMG two-mode adaptive suspension. Physically, the revised models are differentiated by their new "GT" badging, darkened headlight/taillight buckets, red brake calipers, unique wheel colors and high gloss finish on the front grille, exterior mirrors and hood/fender fins. Inside the cabin are new red seatbelts, Alcantara upholstery and contrasting red stitching.
As it is nearly impossible to experience the aluminum gullwing beast on public roads, Mercedes invited out to Southern California's Willow Springs to wring out the 2013 SLS GT Coupe on a racing circuit.

Dartz promises own 6x6 G-Class with golden shishas and a dining room

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

So you didn't really think Dartz Motorz was going to let the limited-production, 544-horsepower Mercedes 6x6 G63 AMG go without a challenge, did you? Picking up the gauntlet as only Dartz can, the Russian dream-makers have come up with the Sahara G-eopard, supposedly a special request from a buyer to make one of the 'standard' six-wheelers "more opulent and insane."
That means the vehicle from the factory gets extended by about a foot (30 centimeters), coach doors in the rear, a "yacht floor" and air conditioning that runs on its own power source, Asanti 24-inch Gold Bullion wheels and a water dispenser with Russian diamonds, which the owner will need to fill the golden shishas (hookahs) in the portable smoking room. That's right, you heard the man: a portable smoking room. Where the occupants will retire when they're finished in the portable dining room. Of course.
Yes, it will even have leopard spotting painted onto its nano-coating, and so much more. You can check out the press release below from the source. Try not to be jealous.

Paul di Resta returns to DTM with Mercedes

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Some drivers manage to make the transition from one form of motor racing into another, and some run into trouble. Take Paul di Resta, for example. The promising young Scottish driver dominated Formula 3 racing in Europe in 2006, then moved over to Germany's hugely competitive DTM touring car series where he finished second in 2008, third in 2009 and first in 2010. But things didn't go as smoothly for Paul - cousin to retired Indy champion Dario Franchitti - when he moved in to Formula One with the Force India team.
In three years on the grid, he failed to score a single podium finish. Little surprise, then, that Force India opted not to renew his contract for this season. Left without a ride, di Resta is now going back to DTM with longtime supporter Mercedes-Benz, testing the new C-Class touring car today in Portugal. It's good news for Mercedes, which is celebrating 120 years in motor racing this season and, with 2005 champion Gary Paffett also on board, can now count two former champions on its DTM roster.
We wouldn't count Paul out of F1 for good, though. When he won the DTM title four years ago, he was also moonlighting as Force India's test driver, and we wouldn't be surprised to see him pull similar double-duty with the Mercedes F1 team (or another Benz-powered outfit) this year before spring-boarding back into grand prix racing in the future. At 27 years old, he may not have been the youngest driver on the grid this year, but he's still got a good few years ahead of him.
