Up for sale is my 1982 Mercedes Benz 300 TD. I bought this car back in August 2012, the car had some minor front driver side damage that needed to be addressed. Before purchasing I immediately took the car to a body/frame repair shop for inspection, after they gave me the all clear that there was not any frame damage I bought the car. Once I had the car I began working on the car here is a list of all the new and used parts that were put on the car: Hood, Fender, Headlights, Fog lights, Headlight plastics, AC condenser, Auxiliary Fan, Auxiliary Fan Shroud, New Radiator, Chrome Grill Ring, Mercedes Emblem and New Grill Insert.

After body work was complete there were a few other repairs made to get the windows working, turn signals working, and emergency flashers working. All of which were an easy fix because these Mercedes are really easy to work on. Parts to fix those included a new emergency flasher switch, and new turn signal/ wiper controller. When I bought the car it didn't have a radio and I never put one in however it looks like all the wires are there. Then the carpet and interior was taken out and deep cleaned, all of it cleaned up very well as you can see by the pictures.

All the engine needed was new fluids, valve adjustment, and it was ready to go! I drove the car back and forth from work on a daily basis and never had any issues. The car is originally from Arizona and literally has no rust to my knowledge. The car's rims were taken off and painted, then the tires were mounted and balanced. The tires have plenty of life left in them and have no issues with holding air.

The car could use a new windshield since the one on it is cracked. The power locks on the car do not work, but I believe I have that problem narrowed down to a leaky air valve in the drivers door panel. The back passenger window does not work, not sure why since it did work before?? Cruise control has never worked however I believe that is known to be a big problem with these cars, plus I never needed it so I never looked into what the problem might be, could be an easy fix don't know for sure. The AC has never been recharged since I replaced the AC condenser (never tried since its winter and did not need the AC). Heater works great and everything else is working on the car.

The car gets great gas mileage (30+mpg) and runs very smooth. The suspicion is great and the seats are very comfortable. The interior is in amazing condition as you can see by the pictures, although the dash does have some cracking on the very top and the armrest in the front has some cracking. If you have any questions about the car please let me know will be happy to answer before bidding. Please give me a call on my cell at 479-466-2803 between 9am-9pm cst. Also if there are any other pictures you would like please let me know and I will try to get them to you in a timely manner. Happy bidding!!! Thanks Andrew

Please note this car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. Thanks!

Mercedes mulling Renault-based entry-level X-Class?

Sun, 17 Mar 2013

Somewhere in between the Smart brand and the all-new A-Class (pictured above), Daimler is said to be readying a smaller entry-level product for the Mercedes-Benz brand to compete with models like the Audi A1. According to AutoBild, Mercedes-Benz will get a new hatchback based on a platform from its recent partnership with Renault-Nissan, and it could be called the X-Class.
Expected to debut by 2018, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class could be offered in sedan, hatchback and crossover variants, and it would likely have a starting price below the $20,000-euro mark. Power would come from either a 1.0-liter inline three-cylinder engine or a 1.5-liter inline-four, and the car would likely be built in a low-cost nation in order to make the financials work. Wearing the Mercedes-Benz name, the X-Class would have to exhibit more distinguishable luxury and styling to set itself apart from the models that helped provide its underpinnings.

Highlights from the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the McLaren P1 and a Ford Transit running the hill

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The sole purpose of this post is as a time-waster, and since you shouldn't have to work to waste time, we've done it for you. In the numerous videos below you'll find cars that have lately been in the news tramping all over the grounds of Lord March's estate in Goodwood, England.
There's the McLaren P1 heading up the hill, the Jaguar Project 7, then a casually-driven Porsche 917 followed by an even-more-casually-driven Porsche 956, topped off by a Porsche 936 that is anything but casually driven. The next round is the flame-spitting Peugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak from Climb Dance, a camera mounted on the Peugeot RCZ R after it showing you what the whole, uninterrupted run up the hill looks like. For a real head-turner, we couldn't embed it but there's Andy Reid blasting up the hill in a Ford Transit Supervan with a Cosworth 3000 V6 engine.
The modern racing contingent has Allan McNish doing the hill in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro he used to win Le Mans and Lewis Hamilton making lots of tire smoke in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas MGP-W02. For comparison, that's followed by Nick Heidfeld's record-setting run up the hill in 1999 in the McLaren MP4/14 . The classic racing contingent is headlined by 71-year-old Giacomo Agostini on an MV Agusta.

First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.
