1991 Mercedes Benz 300CE

This is a beautiful rare coupe that has been meticulously owned/maintained and always garaged.  This is a one owner car since1995 and have had it serviced at Mercedes Benz of Arlington, Va.

This is the pillarless coupe with the upgraded 24 valve 3.0 liter engine.  It is a great car and is a pleasure to drive.  There has been well over $15,000 spent in servicing this car and have the records to prove it.

Here are some features and some of the key services performed;

  • Valve job done @ 137,535 miles
  • Transmission rebuilt @ 171,044 miles
  • Head gasket done @ 137,535 miles
  • Timing chain @ 169,136 miles
  • Tie-rods and wheel bearings @ 180,213
  • Thermostat @ 180,213

  • Oil changed every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 oil.
  • Michelin tires - 90% tread remaining
  • Upgraded 6 CD Sony stereo system
  • A/C blows ice cold
  • Heat works great

The car drives straight, no vibrations, no warning lights.  The car needs nothing and I would be comfortable driving it anywhere in the country.  It handles very well and is a lot of fun to drive.  This is a very solid car, that is reliable and safe, and will make the new owner proud to own her.

I have many pictures of the car, so if you want to see more, just let me know and I will email them over to you.  I recommend that you come, see and drive the car.  You will not be disappointed.

XCAR marks 20-year anniversary of Senna's passing with Mercedes 190E Cosworth

Thu, 01 May 2014

While the automotive world is focusing on the twentieth anniversary of Ayrton Senna's death, there was much, much more to the legendary driver than his untimely passing at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
XCAR has the story of a younger Senna, who, by a stroke of luck, found himself matched up against a veritable dream team of nine Formula One champions, not to mention a cadre of German touring car aces. A "probably still pissed (drunk)" James Hunt, hard-driving Niki Lauda and future champion and rival Alain Prost, were in attendance for the one-off, spec race, which was put on by Mercedes-Benz, in honor of the opening of the Nürburgring's Grand Prix circuit. And Senna was on hand with the explicit goal of besting them all.
Each driver was handed a lightly modified, but brand-new 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth, a car that can best be though of as the distant ancestor of the lovable C63 AMG. As for the race itself, well, it was sort of like an introduction of what the sport could come to expect from the Brazilian.

Watch this perfectly nice Mercedes get crushed by a front-end loader

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

In a world where the YouTube hoax continues to thrive, it's hard to know what to think of this little vid, but here are the facts as we know them: a coupe that looks like a first-generation Mercedes-Benz CLK gets crushed by a giant front-end loader. There you have it.
Our questions arise in the aftermath - we know industrial resource machinery is heavy, but the Benz gets squashed so flat we wonder if someone's trying to play a joke on us. We hear that the white coupe may have been the heavy-equipment operator's foreman's car, but who knows? The on-camera interview seems awfully conveniently placed, yes? See for yourself in the video below and then leave us your thoughts in Comments.

Mercedes teams with Pebble for smartwatch tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Most automakers have realized by now that a good infotainment system is a must-have feature for many buyers, and have, as a result, invested increasing amounts of time and money developing these technologies. But some automakers are going above and beyond in-car entertainment and navigation technology by focusing on wearable technology as well.
Nissan has emerged as one such company, developing its own alternative to Google Glass and performance-oriented smartwatch. But Mercedes-Benz is also putting itself at the forefront of wearable tech - not by developing competing products to those designed by dedicated tech companies, but by working with them. The German automaker, as we recently reported, is developing its own app for Google Glass, and is now doing the same with smartwatches as well.
Set to be unveiled at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Mercedes has collaborated with Pebble Technologies to develop the Digital DriveStyle app. The system will display tell its wearer where the car is, whether the doors are locked and if it needs fuel. Inside the car it'll alert the driver to potential hazards coming up on the road, while making functions like re-routing the nav system, controlling the audio system or activating Siri that much easier.
