This baby has been a great car for us as it's third owner for the last 4 and half years. She's a work horse, not a show horse. Please read the good and bad details below and take a look at the pictures. Feel free to write me with any questions. Thanks,
The Good:
Low miles, (odometer reads 117,000 but stopped about 6 months ago after having to get inside the instrument panel to replace the glow plug relay).
Great transmission (automatic).
Great fuel injection pump.
New radiator, alternator, tires, glow plugs, and brake pads!
Regular fuel filters changes.
Clean interior.
No rust on the chassis.
25 MPG
The Bad:
Past it's prime compression. I believe at least one of the bottom rings is shot, she burns something like a quart of oil every 1,200 miles. I currently have a breather hose piped right to nowhere so smoke comes from under the hood instead of through the exhaust system.
Front left side wall is very rusty AND someone recently grazed it while she was parked, breaking the orange blinker cover.
Small amounts of rust elsewhere.
Door seals are cracked and therefore leak in strong rain, (common with this age).
Gas gauge stops working at half a tank, speedometer and odometer broke simultaneously.
Continues to run when key is removed. I use the stop lever on the engine block to manually switch it off.
New aftermarket starter fails to engage sometimes but always takes with an additional attempt or two.
You can drive her away! I would feel completely comfortable driving 5/6 hundred miles. I have in fact driven her from NY to Chicago two times, Boston some 20 times, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Maine. You get the idea.

Maybach officially discontinues all models for 2013
Tue, 14 Aug 2012The word "Maybach" has joined the long list of synonyms for the word "kaput." Mercedes-Benz released the price list for the 2013 models of its super-luxury sedans, with the price column simply stating "Discontinued" for each one of them.
The 2012 models, should there be any left for 11th-hour buyers, maintain the increased MSRPs that Daimler slapped on them late last year after it was known the brand would be terminated next year. But you might still be able to wrangle that $100,000 rebate if you ask nicely, or in Russian, or have Rick Ross ask for you.
It shouldn't be too long before we see the ultimate version of the next generation S-Class, the S600 Pullman, that will replace Maybach. Intriguingly, it's said the Pullman will be offered with every S-Class engine, even the four-cylinder diesel.
2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA order guide leaked
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The dealer order guide for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA has made its way online courtesy of the crew at CLAForums.com, and not only does it shed light on the ways buyers will be able to configure the entry-level sedan, it talks specific option pricing. Shoppers will be able to select between the CLA250 and CLA250 4Matic, and the option sheet should offer a number of packages to suit buyer tastes, including a sport package with tweaked fascias and unique wheels. Bi-xenon headlamps and 18-inch alloys may also be had as well as a panoramic sunroof and a collision avoidance system. The CLA will be available with a number of active safety systems on board, including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, park assist and blind spot assist, to name a few.
The new sedan comes in 10 colors, including a very dashing purple Mecedes-Benz calls Northern Lights Violet, and there are a total of four interior trim finishes. The automaker hasn't released final pricing of all models just as of yet - we do know from Mercedes' Kate Upton Super Bowl ad that the car will start at $29,900 - but you can check out individual option and package pricing in the gallery. You can also find more information over at CLAForums.com.
Mercedes working on new inline-six engines
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Mercedes-Benz will make a return to the inline-six-cylinder engine game, according to a report from the UK's AutoCar. It's not clear what's prompting the phasing out of the current array of V6s.
We'll see the first inline-six from Mercedes in next-generation E-Class, set to debut in 2016. Following that, it'll arrive as part of a mid-cycle refresh for the C-Class in 2017. What's particularly special about the new inline-six is its modular nature, which will allow Mercedes to eventually spinoff three- and four-cylinder options, with the three-pot arriving alongside the new inline-six.
In other news, AutoCar uncovered some details on the next C-Class AMG, which will ditch its excellent 6.2-liter, AMG V8 in favor of a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, although we've already told you about that. What we didn't know at the time, though, was that the 4.0-liter would be paired first with a new, seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and offer all-wheel drive. AC also reports that a nine-speed Speedshift is in the works.
