This car is used . E bay has decided that it is salvaged, but I have a clear title.I have no idea where E bay got that info , and neither do they ,At least they could not explain it to me.. Again  I have clear title .The exterior is  great shape . I let the paint get scratched on the rear of the hood ,because I  let the  hood blow up.    There is a small dent under the tail light which is barely noticeable. The weakest part of this car is the driver seat ,which is very worn and has tears, the rest of the interior is in great shape. Car starts easily . Runs great shifts good  and has no noises or leaks, I have replaced glow plugs. all brake cylinders and shoes, oil and fluids , upper and lower control arms. The tires are good 60% or more. The a/c is not charged. This is a great car, It will hit 85 mph easily. It has never had grease, wvo or wmo put in the tank, I have had it a year . I believe the trunk lid has been replaced at some time as it is not painted on the bottom side. I've never seen any evidence of repairs to this body, it has been painted professionally in the past. 'I've probably done other repairs ,I just don't remember. It has a aftermarket radio cassette that has a broken face but works good. Mercedes working on new inline-six engines

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Mercedes-Benz will make a return to the inline-six-cylinder engine game, according to a report from the UK's AutoCar. It's not clear what's prompting the phasing out of the current array of V6s.
We'll see the first inline-six from Mercedes in next-generation E-Class, set to debut in 2016. Following that, it'll arrive as part of a mid-cycle refresh for the C-Class in 2017. What's particularly special about the new inline-six is its modular nature, which will allow Mercedes to eventually spinoff three- and four-cylinder options, with the three-pot arriving alongside the new inline-six.
In other news, AutoCar uncovered some details on the next C-Class AMG, which will ditch its excellent 6.2-liter, AMG V8 in favor of a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, although we've already told you about that. What we didn't know at the time, though, was that the 4.0-liter would be paired first with a new, seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and offer all-wheel drive. AC also reports that a nine-speed Speedshift is in the works.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Mercedes to market Tesla-powered 2014 B-Class EV in U.S.

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

Looks like another Tesla Motors investor will be looking to cash in on their connection. Autoweek reports Mercedes-Benz will offer their B-Class in the U.S. with Tesla propulsion.
The magazine says their source at the German automaker confirms plans for a B-Class electric-only vehicle. While Tesla already provides battery packs for the battery-powered Smart ForTwo, the B-Class EV will reportedly have Tesla batteries, motor and other components. U.S. residents should be able to procure one sometime in 2014.
The same Mercedes source says plans for a hybrid B-Class have been postponed for now. Adding a range-extending, gasoline-powered engine to an electric vehicle would put the car into a different class for which rebates and incentives aren't as favorable in the States.
