Some rust on the front left side panel near and around the edges hear and there . The car runs decently around town and fine down the highway. It has new tires, brakes, alternator, battery, ignition switch. In need of a an AC Compressor, drier, and clutch as well as a carb kit for the Stromberg Carb."

I bought this great old 1980 Mercedes Benz 230 nine months ago in Tobaccoville, NC as an old, safe car for my 16 year old son to get to school and back and drive around town.

Previously owned by a 92 year ols who took excellent car of the car and only drove the car around town until he lost his sight the last 10 years of his life, garaged it, and started it routinely. Hence the low miles for the gas engine.

Very good interior condition. Some rust on the front left side panel near and around the edges hear and there . The car runs decently around town fine and down the highway.

It has new tires with less than 100 miles on them, new brakes, a new alternator, new battery, and new ignition switch. The electrical system has been thoroughly gone over and found to be all intact.

The car is in need of a an AC Compressor, drier, and potentially an AC clutch.  It will also need a carb kit for the Stromberg Carb.  My mechanic removed the carb and found the floats to be saturated.

4 Mercedes Benz shop manuals for this 123 chassis and 230 engine included.

I am selling it because I found an even nicer 1984 300D for my son!  This is a great, cool car for the Benz fan wanting a fun project to make cherry or the teenager who appreciates vintage machines.

2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rumbles on stage 4Matic style

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Bruce Hornsby and his soothing piano skills helped introduce us to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but the monstrous E63 AMG sedan needed no entrance music as it rumbled on stage. The 550-horsepower (and up) sedan sat proudly alongside the rest of the redesigned E-Class on stage at the Detroit Auto Show, but stood miles apart in intention and execution.
In addition to a choice of sedan and wagon body styles, the E63 AMG will also offer buyers the choice of the standard 550 hp or an upgraded 577-hp S-Model; regardless of output, all 2014 E63 AMG models will come standard with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
We already saw the E63 AMG's aggressive styling last week, but now we have a full assortment of live images for you to enjoy as well as the Mercedes-Benz press release, which is also posted below.

Mercedes-Benz CLA stars in sweeping short with supermodel Karlie Kloss

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

The Mercedes-Benz CLA earned itself a spot on our list of the top five unveils of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and for good reason. The German luxury compact is the first small car from the Silver Arrow that looks suitably premium inside and out. Nowness.com has turned out a new video of the CLA featuring super model Karlie Koss in the lead role. We aren't entirely sure what the premise is, but from what we can tell, it looks as if the CLA comes to life and proceeds to be a giant jerk.
After Koss stops to take a closer look at a white horse, the CLA gives the supermodel the old stop-and-go treatment before leaving her on the side of the road. Eventually, the sedan makes nice, but Koss has to ride shotgun instead of taking the controls herself. You can check out the video below to see for yourself.

2017 Aston Marin Lagonda could live on Mercedes M-Class platform

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

A few weeks ago, we brought you news from the launch of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante that the British brand, which is formally known as Aston Martin Lagonda, was still planning on going ahead with a Lagonda-badged crossover. Now comes word that that vehicle could very well be based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
When the first Lagonda Concept debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it sat on a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class platform, some four years before Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG deal was inked. And with that partnership, which will see Aston Martin gain access to AMG electrics and "bespoke, V8 powertrains," the opportunities for platform sharing are many.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, the boss of Aston Martin, told the UK's AutoCar, "I look at what Porsche is doing with the 911 as its core business and then it is able to do models like the Cayenne based on the Volkswagen Touareg. It is good business." We've said many times that we'll tolerate exotic CUVs and SUVs if it means keeping the beloved core models alive, which has been the case with Porsche. We see no reason Aston Martin wouldn't be able to do the same.
